Charlie Simmer wasn't exactly greased lightning either.
But he scored a lot of goals for the Bs. -

Gotta go with Jason "Cement Skates" Allison.
Simmer was slow, but all he had to do was park his butt in front of the net. -

Blake Wheeler. Guy was so slow, he'd have to give himself a full zone head start to be in on the rush...only to go offside every time. -

Lacher! Rumour has it that in 2006, he was charged with assault for randomly striking a guy standing off to his left at a grocery store. Charges were dropped when he explained he was reacting to a Glen Anderson slapshot off the wing. Anderson retired in 1996. -

In Response to Re: All Time Slowest Players in Boston Bruins History:In Response to Re: All Time Slowest Players in Boston Bruins History : Agreed. GM was so ffing slow, but Recchi really takes the cake on this one. I would have loved to see Murray vs. Recchi skating 1v1 at the end of their careers.

I am good friends with Muzz and I think his skating style is ugly which may make him appear slow. He wasn't slow. Just a bad skater. -

Think Hal Gill on skates could out-race Yao Ming jogging?

Mike Milbury, slow skater with no shot.
Never went over center ice because Lafluer would be past him
Still he played well in his own end, blocked shots, tough in front of the net, But!
Then was a terrible GM and now has found something he is good at-lol -

Yup. Just like Knuble. My buddy and I would argue all night long about if either was slow. He thought so, I didnt. They both had ugly skating styles, but for some reason they could break through the D in a split second. Ugly, yes, slow, not at all. And lucky you, Muzz is one of my all time favorite players. Seems like a hell of a nice guy. I wish he could have played his whole career here. I was really disappointed when they sent him packing and totally psyched when they traded for him. -

In Response to Re: All Time Slowest Players in Boston Bruins History:I'm pretty sure that Hal Gill would lose a race against a receding glacier.

...and he'd fall down while trying to skate backwards.
But I;m willing to bet dollars to donuts that the slowest--and perhaps the most inept--skater in Bruins history is the immortal RICK ZOMBO.
Yeah, those were some gooooooood times ;-) -

CHARLIE sIMMER'S LACK OF SPEED WAS A REAL KILLER AGAINST FAST TEAMS LIKE THE hABS. BIG pETE MCnABB NEVER LET HIS SKATING HOLD HIM BACK, NOR DID MURRAY.
BOCHENSKI AND DERLAGO DEFINITELY SLOW. ONE OF THE WOST B'S TRADES EVER WAS DERLAGO FOR TOM FERGUS. I MET TOM, A GREAT GUY. -

Esposito gave the impression of being slow. O'reilly was always skating on his butt. However nobody was as good at handling the puck with his feet as Taz. Bucyk was no speed demon either. Ted Greene saw a lot of backs.
I know I'm dating myself...sorry.

For all the crap Hal Gill takes and gets ya gotta admit, he's made himself into a pretty good defender and had himself a nice career. Not just a big body with a reach, he's learned to use it.
