Who did you trade for Kane? Kelly, Bart and Boychuk?

By the way, the 200k in cap space is too little imho

So Boychuk, Bartkowski, Spooner, 2014 1st rounder for Kane ?

Kelly traded to X for a 3rd rounder or a 2nd rounder if the trade is with Tallon or Snow. I'd do $3M with incentives again for Iginla, only give Smith $2.25M and that would leave around $4.75M under the cap.

Playoffs: Reilly Smith > Tyler Seguin

Nice lineup but getting Kane would take away from the roster as posted. You're not getting Kane for Boychuk,Spooner,Bartkowski & a 1st.........are you?

Sobotka was one tough Swede,if the B's could get him back, maybe for Caron, then its possible to package Sobotka,Spooner,Bartkowski,McQuaid & 2014 1st rounder for Kane & WPG's 2nd rounder.

It doesn't.  It's not a real trade.  It's someone creating conversation based on wants and needs.

I think you could get Kane without really touching much of the team, if at all, but it would seriously cost the B's from the farm. Chevy always talks about building for the future - he'd be wanting the top prospects. Think Subban, Spooner, Morrow and a pick (and maybe a roster player like Kelly for cap space)

Just having fun....and was more hoping for others to play around as opposed to just focusing on my fake team. All in fun, but the concept was Boychuck, 1st rounder and Koko for Kane and Kelly and Bart unloaded for picks in different deals. Gilbert snuck in there because there's nobody else out there in the 1.5 range worth anything and he was a body. Likely in this silly fake world the 1.5 would be saved and no extra help on the back end.

Bumping this up, because it's the closest thing we have to a discussion of what the team should/could look like next year.  On the sign Iginla? thread, I said context is everything, and for the most part, the range of options here is pretty narrow - most people aren't blowing anything up; they're more or less shuffling the deck.

One thing the 'geek doesn't show right now is how much bonus cushion the Bruins have to pay.  Could be a hefty chunk - almost $5M, I think.

    Are you not entertained?!?!

    Re: Armchair GMs & Capgeek

$4.8 million is the max that can be charged to next year under the bonus cushion. (7.5% of the cap)

$3.7 million are the bonuses Iginla earned. His other $500k are unattainable since the Bruins didn't make the ECF or the SCF. Hamilton had the potential to earn $737,500 and Krug had the potential to earn $850,000.

That adds up to $4,787,500 (not counting Iginla's $500k). The only bonuses that are attainable are Krug's goals (whether it was 10 goals or 18 goals) and Hamilton's TOI. Those two would amount to about $300K.)

The only other bonuses those two can attain are end of season awards of which are paid by the league and are not counted against the cap."

This is what I have gathered so far.

That is an interesting one. The cynic in me wonders if this has any influence on CJ's dividing up of ice time during games. Probably not but raises my eyebrow nonetheless....

Interesting stuff as the Stanley Cup finals arrive. As someone said last night in the NHL tracker thread, LAKs, Chicago, and Boston are the best teams in the NHL right now. The team needs some tinkering. I will take a try at GM tonight. Nonetheless keep this thread going.
