If you get a chance check out Shawn Matthias' nice deke that led to his goal going in off a Leaf D-guy's skate.

    Matthias!

You'd mentioned him a couple of weeks ago.  I can see why.  Only 25, 6-4, 220, has moves and can skate.  Talented player.

They've given up. Look for Laviolette to get the axe soon...like tomorrow.

I have spent more time on Florida this season than I have in Boston.  With Panthers tickets being so cheap, I'm at every game I can be, which has been most of them so far.  Matthias has been great defensively, but it wasn't until recently that he got moved up to play with anyone but Jack Skille.

Now he's showing some real hockey moves and a decent touch around the net.  He's big, he's young, he can skate quickly, has a good shot and is defensively responsible.  And he plays Bruins hard hockey.

Get him to the black and gold!

They do, dez.  Coming into this season I thought they'd be up there challenging for the division and conference leads.  I'm not enough of a fan to follow them too closely but as far as you know are their problems beyond Bryzgalov?

NAS, I watched some of tonight's Panthers/Leafs game and from what I saw that guy had one speed: Go!  He was a puck-hound and his goal showed some deft moves and serious speed for his size in the manner he swooped around the Leaf defender before going in on Schrivens.  He's hidden playing where he is for that team and their lengthy injury list.  I think he'd energize any line-up.

Anyone catch Dustin Penner's tweet before the Kings visited the White House today?  "After careful consideration I've decided not to visit the White House today for political reasons LOL JK I'm not an idiot!Free trip? I'm in!"  A little swipe at a certain former Conn Smythe winning Bruin goaltender maybe?

So, who's watching what tonight? I am going to attempt to view the Pens/Jets in order to let loose some pent up frustration. Failing that, Loafs/Canes could be fun....

Can't wait for the Saturday matinee Dez.

Carolina made it a game now good for them. Other contests aren't as exiting and Pittsburgh makes me sick...for some reason LoL

Leafs capitalize on an incomprehensibly stupid penalty by Staal.
