you can only bottle the Pens offense for so long. The Islanders played a good first, but that seems like a like years ago.

Isles are also not exactly known as a strong defensive team either. To beat the Pens a team needs to play near flawless D.

I don't want the habs out of it. As great as the playoffs are, theyre that much better if the B's and them meet.

My thought exactly, or at least extend the series and wear down the Sens.

Man, Michalek has clearly lost a step or two with all those knee surguries. When he was with SJ he was all speed. Now he looks like he is laboring in constant pain.

I think they'll battle, but I'm skeptical they have 2 more goals in them tonight.

It's a good goal!  Eat that you flopping Habs.

Hasn't been a single dive by either team tonight that I've seen. Nice game you're missing.

Minutes before the Turris goal, Desharnais flops to the ice after incidental contact with Methot in front of the Sens net.  My wife and I had to do a rewind because it was a brutal dive.

Maybe not as much as a usual Habs effort, but not a single dive?

Powerplays Ottawa - 2 Montreal - 5 and Hab fans are still complaining!

Every time a hab "falls" down the crowd erupts in a frenzy....quite sad actually.

Nope. And the "Habs usual effort" has diminished greatly this year. I know...it's Boston, so every time a Hab hits the ice for any reason it's OMGDIVE!!!!111a1!!! Not really the case anymore. Latendresse and Lapierre are gone--so are the Kostitsyns, and Subban has cut down on that distasteful aspect of his game.

Also, outside of a lame interference call against OTT early in the 2nd, the refs have had a good night overall.

Why doesn't MacLean just put 4 skaters on the ice and save refs the trouble? One gratuitous call after another. Too bad it backfired -- Sens score a shorty. If Habs don't score early in the 3rd -- look for more calls to allow Habs a 5 on 3 advantage.

Every call that sends Montreal to the power play is a "gratuitous call". The referees clearly have an agenda to help Montreal. Although it was WAY more obvious in Game 4.

I may not make it through period 3....drove to Gloucester, MA from Augusta, ME and back last night for a family birthday dinner. I'm beat, so I'll have to miss those upcoming 5x3s. Hope your prediction is better than BruinsJerseyFan or whetever's was in Game 1...he predicted the refs would help MTL over the last 15 minutes of Game 1 by putting OTT shorthanded, but those refs must not have gotten the memo.

Budaj looking weak. Ryder takes the skate of shame back to the bench.

My neice was over and looking forlorn in her support for the Habs.  Somehow I had mixed emotions, I want the Bs to face the Habs again.

Yeah...but it is always a good day when the habs go down in 5 games in the first round, no matter who is the victor.

They likely won't because they're scared to death of Kassian.
