Anyone else catch how Vingneault messed up the end of the Rags/Philthy game? NBC showed him pointing to Lundquist to watch him for the goalie pull, but he didn't coordinate with his assistants the line change got F'ed up for too many men, blowing their last chance.

Refs just took a goal away from Tampa for goalie interference... so wrong! Price took himself out.

The game tonight is Francis Charron's second playoff game,so technically he's not a rookie.

Re: Around the league tracker - playoff version 2014

OK, so...back to last night's other games?

I gotta tell you, one good reason not to have taken the bet with nite on the Scabs - so many things can happen so quickly.  Wuss or not, Bishop would have made this a different series.  Tampa's D is horrible, but that's not new.  That goal by Bourque on the first shot of the game ended up being the difference.  Terrible.  The Bolts are just too thin with too many rooks or underwhelming playoff players.  Hedman needs to get his hedman out of his assman and play like a #2 overall pick.

Someone please tell me what they've done with Jonathan Quick.  I wrote a post a while back saying I thought there were ways to beat Quick - that he's a guy with a particular style that makes the odds of scoring almost zero in certain areas of the net, but to do so he might give you better odds in places that are typically harder already.  When a guy with a distinctive style like his has great success, you have to know that there's got to be a flaw in the design - if you can only find it.  The only guy I've seen where this wasn't a problem - the flaw in the style was there, but the strange physical gifts made up for it - was Hasek.  So - I wonder if SJ's operation 2014, after last year's loss to the Kings, was to dissect Quick.  Because they sure seem to have his number now.

On the other hand, it's two games.  Could just be fluke.  But Quick has a 7.20 GAA and a .824 s%.

Like one of the broadcasters said last night, the home team has won 26 out of the last 28 games,or something like that in this rivalry,so we'll have to wait until after the games in LA to tell for sure if San Jose has cracked Quick's nut.

Re: Around the league tracker - playoff version 2014

That's fair enough.  Good thing they're heading to LA, because I'm guessing the staff at the Shark Tank are going to need some time to re-paint the visitors' dressing room after Darryl was done last night.

At this rate, though, the Kings might be on the first tee just as the Leafs are coming off the back nine.  "Hey!  Bernie!  What'd'ya shoot?"
