Bergeron, Seguin & Seidenberg - Live Now

    Merry Christmas past everyone.

Here is the closest we'll get to watching Bruin hockey this year.

    What a guy.

    Thanks, Wheat.

Also, looks like Seids' brother Yannic is playing with him (could be wrong though) and also Denis Reul...

Remember him? Haven't heard from that guy in years...

Bergy no-look pass through the slot to Seguin for the snipe on the power play to tie the game at 1...

That was awesome to watch until you realize they should be doing that here...

A 2-1 loss to Mannheim by the Tavares-Spezza-Bergeron-Seguin-Duchene-Bernier led Canadian club does nothing for Pauly's theory that the team with the best players available wins.

On another note, this is freaking hilarious:

"First played in 1923, the Spengler Cup annually pits Davos and Canada against four European club teams in a six-day tournament that grips fans across Switzerland."

If I didn't know better, I'd think the winner of the tournament received the coveted Silver Sow award.

Interesting, has Denis learned to skate?  Or is he still stomping around the ice like he's got Herman Munster boots on?

LOL... and how about the refs with those cow print uniforms on !!!! freakin hilarious !  the new black n white ?

On the game Bergy missed on a breakaway from a cute go ahead pass by Seguin and moments after Pomminville scores against his own .

BadHab,  actually the whole Mannhien team looked like D Seidenberg , bloacking shots, clearing all the rebounds and getting in the way of the Canadians.

Herman Munster boots. Sounds like an exaggeration, but it's fairly accurate.

Good one, BH. I get a chuckle just visualizing it.

ANd he's the first player ever to have that particular set of trophies - WJC, WC, Stanley Cup, Olympics and Spengler. Others have the first four, but none also have the Spengler.

Mark this down as it may be a trivia question years from now.

I don't think anyone will equal the 5 trophies because there will be no more lockouts once Gary leaves. And he will leave.

Re: Bergeron, Seguin & Seidenberg - Live Now

That's not necessarily true, it could be done without the lockout, though it would be tough - Hakan Loob is the closest, and he got his two Spenglers after he retired from the NHL (he also has the Stanley Cup, Olympic gold and WC, but he only got a bronze at the WJC). Still, a tough set of trophies to match. Three active players have both a WJC and a Spengler, so they could mathematically match it. Ryan Smyth needs a Cup, Thornton needs a WC and a Cup, and Tavares needs a Cup, a WC and Olympic Gold. So if Smyth can stick around long enough with the Oilers for that team to become what a lot of us think they could become, he could have a decent shot of matching Bergeron's Trophy case (actually surpassing it, since he also has a World Cup)..

I wish they'd play the World Championship at any other time of the year besides during the Cup playoffs.

Re: Bergeron, Seguin & Seidenberg - Live Now

I think in the new CBA they're bringing back the World Cup of Hockey as a new marketing tool.

That might deminish the importance of the World Championship.
