Bob McKenzie: Kings looking to acquire Jeff Carter

LAK and CBJ are working hard to get a Jeff Carter trade done -- Jack Johnson's name featured prominently as well -- but told not done. Yet.

Dean Lombardi has to do something to jump start the Kings offense. Surprised their hasn't been more news of LA in the Nash sweepstakes. The Kings better go deep in the playoffs or Lombardi is back to being an assistant GM. Jeff Gorton will be in line for the Kings job if things fail.

if this deal goes through, Carter gets his wish of leaving Columbus and join his buddy no less....  and all he had to do was act like a stick in the mud....

LA should think twice before giving up a stud d-man for what Carter brings....

McKenzie just said live on TSN they are fairly close with Jack Johnson AND a 1st round pick going the other way.

Not sure LA would get the better of this deal.

I like the dudes talent and give him a pass for being pissy in Columbus. Was content in Philly and signed a long term deal thinking it was with Philly, not a bottom of the barrel team like the Jackets. He wouldn't be the first guy unhappy with the pro team that owned his rights. See: Mario and the Pens, Lindros with the Nords, Pronger and the Oilers.

    AND A 1st?....  UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

not only are the Kings giving up the best player in the deal in Johnson, they're also picking up Carter's ball & chain contract....

PC should try to pick Lombardi's pockets too....

If this deal ends up going through, and I were Dustin Brown or Jarret Stoll, I'd keep as close of an eye on my wife/girlfriend as possible Wink

I agree that Johnson + a 1st for Carter is a steal for CBJ.  TSN tonight even suggested that someone like Dustin Brown may become available too.  He would be a nice addition to the Bruins.  That would cost us Krejci or another decent roster player. Hmmmm

Re: Bob McKenzie: Kings looking to acquire Jeff Carter

McKenzie said that Brown could be moved due to cap reasons....  the Kings already have guys like Kopitar, Richards & Doughty making over 5 mil. per with Quick approaching his big payday in the very near future....  they wouldn't want Krejci....

Brown would be an ideal pickup....  maybe for a 1st?....

Now that Carter is in LA Mckenzie is saying Bernier being shopped heavily. I think their will be allot of takers for Brown if he is shopped great hitter for the playoffs.

Bad trade for the Kings. That locker room is about to get toxic. The bars in LA will be happy. Richards & Carter will be back to their partying ways.

Dustin Brown for David Krejci? U crazy man!

When did Brown led the playoff in scoring? When did he lead anything?

Dustin Brown for Carter Camper? Maybe? If the Kings throw in a draft pick.

    First, I don't drink.

Second, anyone thinking about trading David Krejci should be tested for dementia.

Dean Lombardi is one that should be tested ASAP.
