Just saw it. I also read on TSN twitter feed Clowe could be traded by tonight as well

Dang, another one gone.  And the prices are nothing to laugh at.  The B's might be best off bowing out of the bidding.  This short season has resulted in about 6 sellers and 20 buyers.   A brtual market for the "stay the course" type of GM.

Why do you say that?  A dozen teams bidding on Boumeester  -- were 11 of them "sitting back"?

I see one team over-paying, and 11 teams not willing to over-over-pay.

The Blues better make the playoffs to break his streak of a playoff-less career.  Probably will.

After the Iginla debacle, I can't imagine Chiarelli is all that excited to talk to Calgary any time soon.  So Bouwmeester not coming is not surprising.

He meant BB the coach of Pats picking up released guys and injury prone guys then tells us what great moves they are.

He's probably too busy trying to figure out the delay of game rule.

Wow, i wanted Bouwmeester but not at that price. With the contract, kind of suprised. Who would have thought he'd fetch as much or even more than Iginla. Ones a rental, I understand but the other is a whole lot of cap space.

St. Lou has probably the league's best depth on D now though. Not a bad pickup for them.

Two stiffs and a 1st rounder. Now i'm going to read the Flame fans responses which I predict will be the same reaction to what they got for Iginla.

St Louis had better hope that the prospects and 1st round pick don't pan out very well.  If those guys turn into decent NHL players, hindsight will judge this as an insane overpayment for Boumeester.

Sorry, but not getting Boumeester is a good thing. Huge talent, no heart.

    And at $7 mil, PASS.

$7 million is just the salary too.  Its the 1st round pick and two prospects that are alarming.

    Too. Much.

    Oh, Poor King.

Did you want Jay Boumeister on your team? So he can float around like his good buddy Nathan, and keep him company?

    You sit on bull, King.

You guys are a riot.  It's a 26 year old goalie in the Swiss league, a 5'9, 23 year old defenseman with a concussion on his resume and a first round pick that will probably be in the 20s.

In return, the Blues get Jay Bouwmeester.

Seems like a decent deal for the Blues.

Bouwmeester was playing just fine in Florida.  His career took a shot of quicksand when he went to the Saddledome.

    Seek help.

If this guy does not get quality additions in here before the deadline, this team won't be competing for a Cup. Simple.

I am not saying "I want Boumeester and his freelancing style", I want Chia to do something. He's already lost leverage and the closer it gets, the worse position he will find himself in.

    The apologists here a joke.

    Then wait like everybody else.

Don't tell me he hasn't been trying.
