Why am I being asked about Joe Colborne? Which side of the debate was I supposed to be on? I haven't thought about him since he got dealt. I think he still plays for the Leafs.

Well you once pegged him as a bona fide  star and i said he would not mount to much.

No big deal but I know you remember that.  That is pretty much why you began to attack every post . Now he does play for the leafs but don't expect much .

Nobody ever said that about Colborne. If you're going to lie successfully it needs to be at least remotely believable. Try again.

Really Kelv then you are another geek- i didnt know Gorton was working for the bruins .looks like the rangers hired an imposter named Jeff gorton as assistant gm

Meant Chiarellis brother, thats who you said to get rid of. Not sure why I typed Gorton..I wish I was smart enough to be a geek.

Does anyone know when Chiarellis brother was promoted? I thought he was just a regional scout? Had no idea Gretzky's brother was on the payroll as well.

He is just a regional scout. From the Bruins official site:

Mike Chiarelli is in his fourth season with the Bruins organization. He is based out of Ottawa and scouts amateur prospects in Ontario.

Jack Higgins has the exact same job description.

Off the subject, but how many players come from Sweden with a population of 9 million.

kelv another bright boy ! and I never called red a geek

red I just gave some of the players that were drafted from ohl and were born out of Ontario

1quite a list dont you agree pls answer yes or no

2- ohl produces the most players from any other league (minors)

now red tell me that picking one teais not a representation of the nhl itself

so look at other teams and u will see that ohlproduces the most and yes tgere are some 3 or 4th liners but so what they are coming out from Ontario

anyone who knows will tell you that actual nhlers not drafted players who will never makeit come mostly out of the ohl

pls lookit up. Now again I named you few superstars that come from ohl and many of them are born in Ontari

    I

ask any scout he ll tell you

OK to respond to your points let's look at your exact points. The number of active players to come out of Ontario where the OHL is based that have played at least 20 career games? 164.

The number of active players with at least 20 career games to come out of Western Canada, where the WHL is based? 176

Ontario's population is !3,505,000. Western Canada's combined population is 10,290,963.

And yes that was an impressive list. So is Iginla, Weber, Seabrook, Keith, Price, Ward, Lucic, Getzlaf, Hall, Eberle, Versteeg, Marleau, Morrow and Sharp to name a few. They're all Western Canadians.

So lets see, of the regions we were discussing how is the league mostly Ontario, when Western Canada has more NHL players with a smaller population?

The numbers, whatever metrics you want to use, simply don't back up your assertions.

What?  9 Million?  It can't be that small.  Let me google that.  oh, yah, I knew it couldn't be that small.

    9.449 million.

    Jimminy Cricket! that is small!

Using the same more than 20 gp rule of thumb, Sweden's at 54. Finns are at 25, Russia's at 29, Czechs 39, States are at 186, and Slovakia's 12.

you quoted that from a scout verbatim. Come on surely you  must hsve your own take on it.

    here let me guide you

    1) you think he will make nh

2 if he does how much will he contribute

3- do you see him as a first liner or other?

4- do you he will be an impact player

5- will he be a solid nhler or maybe s journeymen

Yes to all. He will break all of Gretzky's records..........also taken from a scout verbatim.

    Spooner or Subban ?

re: picking Seguin.  No question they had to pick Tyler.  Look at that draft and point out a player anywhere near as good - other than Taylor Hall.

Taylor and Tyler were 1a and 1b - or 1b and 1a...Chiarelli can neither be credited nor blamed for picking whomever was left in the 1b(#2) slot.

    2013 NHL Draft:

    OHL - 37 players drafted

    WHL - 33 players drafted

    QMJHL - 31 players drafted

No....nothing is even like the OHL...

...let's just amend the statement so it refers to the CHL - that should cover it.

    Except the WHL...

Fletch, the Q has also produced a couple of decent players in the last 10 years. Nobody noteworthy comes to mind but I know there were some.

Huberdeau ring a bell Dez? Played for your Saint John SeaDogs?

And how come the Avs took this MacKinnon kid when there were OHL guys on the board?

Well for sure our leading scorer for the Bruins must have been an OHL product right, there's no way it was someone from the Maritimes, because we all know Ontario's much better, right?

Just stupid I guess. No wonder Drouin dropped so far down. Not OHL material.
