    Bruins Need to Play Physical

I know it's a long season and you can't play every game going all out, but that being said, the Bruins play much better when they are physical, not goon hockey but just finishing checks , droppin the gloves if you had to, play with attitude. The last three games I have not seen the physical play the Bruins are capable of (this is why you have a big team),the results speak for themselves.

Re: Bruins Need to Play Physical

This is a team that needs to start developing uper echelon skill. To many pluggers on the bottom lines who play the system well while the guys with actual talent appear to be regressing. Speaks volumes about Claude.

This team has no transition game to speak of & can't handle a fast aggresive forecheck. This will be CJ's last year to see if this system can be more effective in the playoffs. A second round defeat doesn't cut it this season.

This clog up the neutral zone while chipping the puck in & working the wall in attempts to get a pass to Dmen who can't seem to handle the puck is on its last legs if we see a repeat of the last 2 yrs come April.

Yes it is important to play physical but talent is what will make or break this team. Detroit had no interest in playing a physical game against the Bruins & they made the Bs look like a AHL team. Claude has to let the talented players use there creativity & Chia has to bring in some skill on the backend.

It's not up to Detroit to decide if they want to play physical. The point of playing physical is to slow a team like Detroit down, make them see shadows and hear footsteps. The B's simply didn't bring it. Hopefully we'd see a much different game in the playoffs.

    dj,

Detroit is a puck possession team.  Sure you can run them if you can catch them.  and sure you can take extra shots and put them on the PP.  Teams try and get them involved and they simply skate away everytime.  EVERYTIME.  I hate watching them.  But man they are well coached and they are just a very very sound team.  They have more skill on the 3rd line than we do on our 1st.

Our team is better suited in the East which has always been a grind em out style of game.  The West is a superior divison when it comes to wide open hockey.

Newfiebullet is correct in many ways.

Playing physical is fine.  But it also can leave you out of position and cause penalties.  You will never ever intimidate Detroit.
