    Bruins v. Leafs (23/03/13)

By request from NAS, here is an official game thread.

TORONTO -- Forward Leo Komarov has been placed on injured reserve by the Toronto Maple Leafs with an upper-body injury.

"He is unavailable to our hockey club for a minimum of one week," coach Randy Carlyle said. "We are looking at it probably 7-10 days."

Komarov sustained the injury in the second period of a shootout loss Thursday to the Buffalo Sabres.

The 26-year-old ranks third in the League with 126 hits and his loss will be especially felt by the Maple Leafs when they face the physical Boston Bruins on Saturday night.

Ryan Hamilton, recently recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, will enter the lineup in place of Komarov. Carlyle said Hamilton will initially skate on a line with Mikhail Grabovski at center and Matt Frattin on right wing but could be elevated to play on the top line with Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel.

Bruins coach Claude Julien said forward Rich Peverley will be back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch in Boston’s previous game against the Ottawa Senators. Defenseman Johnny Boychuk will not play because of a lower-body injury, which means Matt Bartkowski will play in his first game of the season.

James Reimer will be in goal for the Maple Leafs, and Anton Khudobin will start his ninth game of the season for the Bruins.

    Playing:  Skating Chicken and Pandawful*

I hate it.  I want to see Spooner get a real shot.  Hamill and Bourque played many games in a row.  Spooner looked great in his debut this year.  Let the kid play.

*Please note:  I consider Pandolfo to be terrible, but better than MacDermid.

I am happy that Lupul is out.  His speed can certainly cause problems for slower defense pairings like the B's often ice.

In all honesty, I am expecting TO to take it tonight. That B's lineup is weak....very weak.

    Prove us wrong Jay....hatty tonight!!!

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW

They just showed Thornton and Orr chatting at the red line.  That's how incredibly fake these Skating Clowns and their dances are.   What a complete joke.

Bruins need to forecheck well tonight... tired of seeing our forwards skate away instead of hit.

    Re: Bruins v. Leafs (23/03/13)

Now Fluto is getting all confusing. He has Spooner penciled in centering the 3rd line based on pregame warmups and no Peverley but then stated CJ said Peverley was going to play. What the hell?

    ased on pregame warmups:

    Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton
    Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Tyler Seguin
    Jay Pandolfo-Ryan Spooner-Jordan Caron
    Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

    Zdeno Chara-Dougie Hamilton
    Matt Bartkowski-Dennis Seidenberg
    Aaron Johnson-Andrew Ference

    Anton Khudobin
    Tuukka Rask

    * Ryan Spooner took the first shift between Jay Pandolfo and Jordan Caron. However, Claude Julien said Rich Peverley would play tonight.

    * James Reimer (10-4-3, 2.73 GAA, .916 save percentage) will start in goal for the Leaf

True NAS.  He was flying in his return to the lineup against the Jets last week.  Also had an instant impact scoring twice.

I know, but real hockey minds need to look past it.  It's like people who watch NASCAR for the accidents.

Stock just said the Bruins will be focussing on "two guys who don't like to get hit; Phaneuf and Kessel.  Just go 'Boo' and they cough up the puck."

If Spooner can just have a little more success and get his confidence up, I could see him doing some damage on the scoreboard.

I am not taking anyone's side but I agree with you BFan I rather see Spooner then Caron in there. I seen enough if Caron if he can't be out Pandolfo that says something to me.

Mats Sundin has put on weight and hasn't updated his wardrobe since retirement.

That jacket he has on looks couple of sizes too small.
