    Can this Bruins team repeat?

Good article by KPD today with comments from Shanahan and Ward. The positives for the Bruins are that their core KPD line; Bergeron/Marchand;Seguin; potentially Caron, as forwards are all young. However, except for McQuaid, their defense is not so young. AAron Ward made a strong point that a repeat needs a Scotty Bowman type coach, and that Claude Julien fits that toughness mode better than most.[Cannot believe that I am lauding Claude], but, so be it. Fluto's report indicated that Pouliot played a much better game, and set up Seguin for the game tying goal. Will be glad when we can actually see the game on Thursday.

Bogie, I saw the last 2 periods of the game. Pouliot looked better but still not great. He did actually outwork someone for a loose puck which led to the assist you speak of.

    Yes they can repeat.

Please don't start any "we need ray whitney threads"

We all know how Kaberle worked out.

    Hey I'm glad too!!
But TK was a total disaster.

Now please comment on the meat of the subject.

Indeed that was a very good article by KPD. Brian Burke says that the Bruins climbed Mount Everest to win the Cup last year. That was true with last year's dismal PP.

With an improved PP, Mount Everest can become a lot smaller ... We need Ray Whitney!

When talking about a repeat, the age of the D is irrelevant.  It's only relevant if your talking will they be good years down the road.  None of them are close to 40. They are in their prime.  Yes they have as good a shot as any recent team to repeat.

Yes on the repeat, the NHL parity and the fact the Bs have a solid core will make them highly competitive. The uncertain potentia of a player like Seguin could very well make the Bs the best in the East.  The only caveat is injured player, now that can also change the fortunes of the Bs.

History is not on our side!

...but 20 or so games into the regular season, I think we will all know if this team has the heart to do it again.

I really don't think we'll know until about 20 games in to the playoffs...

As long as KPD keeps picking the opp, we should be good, if he jumps on the bandwagon, we are doomed.

Who will be his scapegoat, hope it is not Seg, but noone is safe with kpdouche

Re: Can this Bruins team repeat?

YES we can repeat, as long as we are blessed to avoid long term injuries to key players. For the first time in ages, last year was a good year for the B's with very few injuries.

YES again because of TT and TR. The best duo for sure in the league. Not that many team that can count on 2 goalies ranked in top 8
