    Canucks / Booth addition

The Vancouver Canucks cant not get any softer.  They just added, literally, the most fragile guy in the NHL.  They could replace Alain Vingeault and his coaching staff with the Charmin toilet paper family of bears and they still wouldn't get any softer.

All this does is pile on more pressure on the shoulders of Kesler.  Not only does he have to constantly defend the cheap antics of Burrows and Lapierre, but now he'll be troubled with the burden of having a linemate with a glass brain...

Poor Vancouver... no wonder they rioted.

Saw this on ESPN's rumor mill. Definitely think FA vets will be hesistant to sign in Vancouver next year.

    Sturm trade could backfire

    10:43AM ET

General manager Mike Gillis may have made a significant impression with his recent handling of forward Marco Sturm. And not a good one.

Blogger Harrison Mooney suggests Sturm was more than a little bummed about being traded to the Florida Panthers. Thrilled to sign a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks, Sturm moved his entire family -- enrolling his young kids in school -- with the intent of settling in for the year. Then he was unceremoniously shipped away. And Mooney hints that move could hurt the Canucks down the road:

"... Don't think that other players around the league haven't noticed, either. Mike Gillis has gone to great lengths to make Vancouver a desirable destination for free agents, but shipping a signee to the opposite corner of the continent after a week and a half in town is bad for business. Veteran free agents may think twice about inking with the Canucks going forward over concerns that they'll be moved out before they're done moving in ..."

David Booth “broke down in tears” upon learning he’d been traded to Vancouver

He'll fit in well with "Pump my tires" Luongo and the Sedin sisters.

Without a NTC, it was stupid for Sturm to move everyone there right away.
