By the way, anyone see the end of the Nas/Det game? Bad blood there to be sure. Preds playing it tough which, I guess, is a good strategy playing the passive-aggressive Wings.

Ugh...CBC play-by-play guy, and Nuck cob-gobbler, Jim Hughson is already almost unlistenable.

It sure did look like Weber slammed one of the Wings heads into the glass to end the game. Gaustad was acting tough until he realized Bertuzzi was out there and willing to fight.

Gaustad always plays it tough when there are no Lucic-types around. He will have his way with the wings for sure. Bert will drop them but that is not his forte.

Nucks out in front thanks to a fortuitous PP.

Oh, and in the spirit of Hughson; "GREAT SAVE LUONGO!!!" LOL.

Let's go LA!  As I type there's a one and a half gainer into a jack-knife by one of the Louganis brothers on Penner.  And so it begins.

Richards scores on the PP. 1-1. No "GREAT SAVE LUONGO" there.

    Crowd silent.....

And another bone-headed penalty by the Nucks there.

I actually empathize with penalties of this sort. No matter the team.

Two penalties on LA in the first 10 minutes, and none for Vancouver.
Obviously the refs are on Vancouver's side, because, as the Canuckleheads around here are always pointing out, those early power plays are a dead giveaway.
Looks like the league is going to help Vancouver get the cup.

Well, 1-1 after 1. Should be a wakeup call for the Nucks. LA is no pushover.

1-1 score because Kesler felt the need to spray Johnny Quick in the face.

    Real smart.

i was thinking the same thing ipot. problem being that LA is thin with talent up front. dustin penner may be the biggest, slowest disappointment in the nhl. 4.25 million for this guy. try to picture penner with mike richards drive and mean streak. he would be unstoppable. early bet penner will land with the maple leafs next year with the rest of the clowns in Toronto.

Yep, stupid move on his part.

CBC intermission pundits going crazy with the "why is Van tied instead of blowing LA out" excuses. Hmm, so far it is LA playing dirty, Henrik is missing Daniel, and refs calling too many penalties. Maybe, LA played well? Just throwing it out there.....

Craig Simpson just mentioned that the Nucks do not get the benefit of the doubt by the refs due to their antics. I suspect he will not be heard from for the rest of the playoffs for going against the "poor persecuted Canucks" narrative being constructed by his collegues.

and CBC  have picked off from last years final.  Quick made an amazing save on Kesler . Instead of shouting out what an amazing save by Quick ( as they did on Luongo's glove save) they hesitated and said , oh (hesitate) nice save by Quick.

About 2min after that Quick made another big stop but this time they did say " Another amazing save by Quick"

Hughson is such a homer !  Last year in those lopsided Bruins scores in Boston he kept on saying , besides the scoreboard the Canucks were the better team or Canucks had more scoring chances ....

Looking like the Nucks D is having some problems with Kopitar and Brown. Not surprising to those that have seen these two play quite a bit.

Legion: at least they finally acknowledged Quick's existence. That is a step in the right direction considering the guy is in the running for the Vezina. Man I hate CBC.

Canucks are dirty as hell so far this game. Hopefully LA makes it out alive.
