Dan O'Rourke (The wrost official in the NHL) is calling this series... should see 10+ PP chances for each team in every game. This works to the advantage of the Canucks with their good special teams play. Gregorys Daddy must be trying to make them win.

Finally, ex-Nuck Mitchell scores on the PP. Would have been crappy not to score on a 5 minute major.

Kings upto now have had a wide margin of calls go their way and haven't done much.  This is why I think Canucks will win this game. Matter of time the blance gets' tipped and Canucks will get back all those PPs.
One thing for sure ther refs are making a point they're not calling the ones that look like embellishment.
Van fans can chant BS BS BS BS all night.
    WAY TO GO BITZY CAT

Actually I really think NBC has high stakes for the L.A. market

Tied up right before the end of the period.

Legion; isn't it like midnight out East there by now?

Glove save by Quick , Hughson " Glove save , first shot in a long time by Canuck" Uh ? Luongo makes that save and it was an amazing glove save and Quick just gets
    a " Glove save " ?
Frig !  Luongo gets a "Amazing save " even when he doesn't save it and the puck goes through him and hits the post

Funny because my computer is on Pacific time, 942pm. I'm not

2-2, should have been 4-1 or 3-1 , so many PP for Kings . They'll pay for it.

[QUOTE]Craig Simpson just mentioned that the Nucks do not get the benefit of the doubt by the refs due to their antics. I suspect he will not be heard from for the rest of the playoffs for going against the "poor persecuted Canucks" narrative being constructed by his collegues.

It was just a matter of time until the refs get fed up of their antics. It's only game one and I already noticed 2 Louganis beauty dives by Kesler at center ice and by Henrika when he got out hussled by Doughty on a loose puck. Doughty left with the puck and roughly 1 second later, the sista flop like she got shot in both legs at the same time.

LA with the win and the physical edge. Nucks better start looking past their Presidents Trophy achievement if they want to go deep.

All the diving the Canucks do makes me sick.  I wish those unsportsmanlike plays  were reviewable by the league office after the game and subject to fines or suspension (if it is a repeat offender).

Kesler dove more than a couple times which is embarrassing.  When he interfered with Quick, he acted as if he got shot.  Seriously, YOU made contact with the goalie, not the other way around.

And yeah the announcers really want them some Canuck meat in their mouth.

    Re: CANUCKS-LA series thread

That was a poor effort by the Canucks.

More traffic in front of Quick is needed.  He's a good enough goalie as it is, when he can see everything, he's almost airtight.  The one play where he tried to get the goalie interference penalty, he lost his concentration, Burr's shot drifted past his shoulder, and he whined to the refs.  The second goal was a weird bounce, down off the ice then back up to the top corner.

The Canucks have to avoid the stupid penalties;  it just killed them tonight.

The Kings winner was a horrible play by Edler.

I'd say 7 games is enough for Richards to pry the gloves off Kesler once.

Unless he can pry them off Burrows first.
