He's an AHL reject who's tearing it up.  He'd better than Carl.  The AHL is better than the SEL, and Caron, Spooner, Knight, Suave, Tardif, Whitfield and even Bourque are better than Soderberg.

check hockey db.  Reject AHLers rule that league.

Check the rosters and stats of the guys in the league.  They have some kind of rule where you can only have so many foreign born players or something.

I can't think of anything more absurd than trying to rate a player by nothing more than numbers on a computer screen. Silverberg is helping the Sens right now. Fasth is helping the Ducks. Both guys had success in SEL last year.

TSN panel indicated he could be a top 6.  But bc of the Bruins he would be on 3 rd line.  Size, speed and hands.  Cant be any worse then whats currently filling in on the 3rd line yo yo.

Silfverberg had put up good points in that league as a 17, 18 and 19 year old - actually better numbers than Soderberg does now as a 27 year old.

And it isn't like analyzing stats, it's just looking at the league, who's in it, who did they used to play for and what numbers they're putting up relative to each other.

 

It's quite clear it's a cut below the AHL

I'm being a dick by choosing to actually see a player before writing him off? Gotcha! I don't know how I keep forgetting your success rate versus PC when it comes to filling out the roster. Forgive me. My mind isn't as sharp as it used to be. Silly of me to question your opinion. Carry on trashing.

All right, so I got carried away.  Check out all the youtube clips, check out all of those sweet goals where he looks like a stud.  then check out when he got them - when he was playing in the Swe-1 league NOT the SEL.  And half of those were before the eye injury.

You don't always have to see guys to know they're a waste of time, sometimes their resume is enough.  You haven't seen me play, do you really think you have to before making a judgement about my playing in your fave pickup game?

i laughed when i read this, but here is one thing i've learned as a hockey fan. Trust Dreger. If he reported an NHL guy said Soderberg has top 6 ability, then it was said, whether or not it comes to fruition. 

BadHab why does any other team picks him up if he is free and he doesnt belong to any team ???

Why has he never showed up to a camp - development camp, rookie camp - any camp? 

Why isn't the near loss of sight in one eye a major concern?

Why isn't a concern that most of his playing career has been in less than the equivalent of the echl?

 

PC and staff wouldn't approach Soderberg (or anyone else) to play if they weren't talented enough to make a contribution in Boston. He's had some players work out better than others but overall has had a decent rate of success filling out the roster. I like to at least see someone fail before I'll call them a failure. That's just me though.

And that's why they haven't approached him, they gave up on him eons ago.  At that time he showed some potential, note how he started in the SEL and then dropped down to Swe-1.

Remember my $200 bet that Tommy Cross would never play in the NHL?

Another $200 says that Soderberg will never play in the NHL.

This post is absurd.  Fabian Brunnstrom had 17 goals and 12 assists in 55 games for the Dallas Stars, this year he has 9 goals and 9 assists in 54 games in the SEL for Frolunda.  The SEL must be a much better league that the NHL.  Did I do that right?

Plus for comparison sake Soderberg has 31 goals and 29 assist in 54 games.  Soderberg is on pace to break Hakan Loobs SEL goal scoring record.
