    CBJ Signs Bob!!!

2 years at $5.625 million per.

Great news for PC. Rask's agent can hardly demand more per season than the present Vezina winner.

Yes that means 6 or 6.5 tops for Rask.

Well, I'm sure Rask's agent will ask for more, and will get it.  But I agree that it is a good sign for the negotiations.

True but I don't see it going past $6.5 million now.

    Excellent.

I sure hope you're right.  I hope for $6.5, but I fear $7.  Rask remains in a pretty string negoiating position.  Thank God he's still an RFA.

Wow. Thats a lot of money for Bob. Venzina winner and all. This is the first season he has actually played worth a darn. Kudos to the CBJ for not giving him anymore than 2 years. But if he plays well for the next two years, how will they give him a pay raise. I feel they sort of maxed out with this deal. CBJ sort of handcuffed themselves if they decide to keep him after 2 years. I guess we'll wait and see.

Go read current and past statements from Scott Boras and Lee Stienberg, then re-think that comment. Rask is going to get paid!

    Re: CBJ Signs Bob!!!

    Couple of questions:

Are there other teams with more than 7 mil flexibility in the cap that need a Rask?

How high (7 or 8 mil) can the B's really go before screwing up the rest of the team now and the future?

I don't have either answer but they are IMHO the big ones

Love the Red Sox and enjoy the ride every year
