    Center Ice Pack

This is the first yr I bought it. I found other means to get the B's games. Can someone tell me. Why in the freak would they go to the road teams telecast? Sunshine network & Av's coverage (until they lost that feed)? I know Jack can be a goof (I actually like his announcing) but there's no comparison between Brickly & McNab. Peter you were a better hockey player than Brick was; but your color??? The guy on T-Bay game? He was like nails against a chalkboard. The announcing was passable. He wasn't a total homer & that's always nice.

Having had the package the last few years Nite, this is exactly why I laugh when people complain about Jack. When you need a good nap listen to a Detroit, Columbus, Dallas or Florida home game OMG...

During a Washington game on the weekend, the announcer described Dennis Wideman, as a "defensive specialist, with an offensive upside".
    That was my OMG moment.

I'm a big fan of Center Ice.  I know a lot of people complain about the price or coverage, but sometimes I am still shocked that I can sit on my couch in Colorado and watch every Bruins game, along with whatever other games I want to watch for so little money, relatively.

The out of town announcers are brutal though.  The Tampa guys may be the worst in the league.

Did you realize on Monday that the Colorado play-by-play guy is the great Peter McNab?  Every now and then he'll complain about player conduct, and his partner (Mike Haynes) will say "aren't you one of the guys that climbed over the glass in MSG and went after the fans?"  Hilarious.

You wanna grit your teeth then listen to Pitt and how biased they are.  I know the cheer for the home team thing is great.  But they could be the worse.
My most hated hockey person is Glenn Healey.  I wanna fight him.

I believe there is a free Center Ice preview right now until 10/23. Id rather watch the opposition's feed than listen to Jack. Trying to synch Beers and Goucher is difficult for a simpleton like me.

I live in a small little town outside of Halifax and when I moved here I said I have to get the NHL pkg.   I love it.  The announcers are brutal in some spots but I like watching the Cali teams.  I can't get enough of Dustin Brown and the getz/perry/ryan line.  And I know Detroit is pretty lame hockey but Datsyuk could be my favorite player in the league along with Shea.

This may sound strange, but I am the same way with Edmonton.  For some reason this team interests me and I watch at least half of their games through Center Ice.  Living in the mountain time zone, all of the east coast games are over by 8:00 for me.  If I want to watch hockey after that, it's the Cali teams, Phoenix, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, or of course, the Avs (and Winnipeg now?).  When you watch as much hockey as I do, I think the Center Ice package is an insane bargain.

i have no problem paying $2/ bruins game. i tend to watch mon, tor, ott, and buf games as well as the top level west teams det, van, sj, chi and wpg (just because i'm glad their back). the package is indispensible, when there's nothing on worth watching (95% of the time), the ticket is always there.

Got the package for the first time this year and I love it.  My biggest problem is finding the time to watch games.  I generally record  the B's games and watch them late at night. I'd love to take advantage of watching other teams play, but my PVR would fill in a hurry.   Still the price per game made it a no brainer for me.

Maybe it's just my provider, but most CI games are not in HD. The HD games I get are NESN, Versus, NHL Network and one Center Ice channel...if a game isn't on one of those 4, I get standard definition on a HD TV which looks terrible. However, it looks better than trying to watch the Habs on a dodgy internet feed and as much as I like the new broadcaster, seeing is still better.

If I was a Bruins fan I wouldn't spring for CI for that reason--not enough games in HD. But rooting for a team whose games I can't normally get in Maine anymore makes me put up with it. Overall, though, it's not a great product.

    Re: Center Ice Pack

I finally got a straight answer from a Shaw guy.....For me, Center Ice is NOT an option this season. NHL Center Ice is switching over to fiber. This explains why the last 2 seasons I too received my hockey in analog and not digital. So sometime this season????? Center Ice will be showing all their games in HD.....as for me.  Shaw sends our region a signal from satellite and then to cable, which is why I'm unable to receive Center Ice. Sucks to live in the mountains sometimes. And for all you viewers in Western Canada, Accu Weather was in the paper saying it's a for sure bet that Western Canada will receive colder than normal temps ! Great !!!!!!   Hello Justin TV ???? or who ever the f**k will steam (ya i know, i'm now knowing as the guy looking to steam hockey).
