Shupe, honestly buddy, your Rask rants have removed all fun from this place all summer long.  It has driven me away on many occasions and made any sort of foundation fan fun here non-existant.

We all understand that you dislike the deal.  You mind will not be changed, and 2,000 posts later, neither will any else's.

Can you PLEASE frigggin' drop it?

You're my absolute favorite here, but I'm on the verge of putting you on ignore so I can return to enjoying the community.  Come on.

Im talking about king henrik now.  Stop bringing up the past.   However, if you look at this post....san calls me out, does he not.  was he not looking for a response?  Kelv likes the debate in this thread.   But for you and only you, i will stop.   This is it.   Im not saying i wont comment if he stinks or gets hurt.   But for now no more.

And I will stress this again. Systems are stat padders. They cannot make goalie's better. A system doesn't make a goalie elite; only gives him elite numbers. Elite goalie's are the ones that separate themselves from the non-elite by making saves he should make & then also the one who plays his best when the team in front of him are playing their worst at more consistent basis then the rest. Lundqvist & Quick do this better than anyone.

And both play air tight defense and im pretty sure girardi has more save in a year then king h.  So bryz was classified as elite.  Taken out of that system he stunk.  Smith who stunk was put in that system is now elite.   I think Quick is amazing.  I dont think he would be as good on lets say Washington.   I just there is a fine line in so called elite goalies and good nhl goalies.  I think a good nhl goalie could easily play in boston, nyr, chicago or la.   Take holtby and put him on any of those teams and i bet his numbers are similar.
Shupe, the Rangers weren't in a single game in the Bos series! IF it wasn't for the king they would've been blown out every game. Including the game with Rask's gaffe'. Girardi played some of the worst hockey in his career in that series & it was Henry who was bailing him out. Yes Lundqvist plays on a great def team, but don't tell me he isn't the best on the planet right now. You talk about consistency to rank goalie's? Who's been better in the consistency dept in the past 8 seasons. Girardi hasn't been with the Rangers that long! For the love of GOD almighty don't tell me you're putting Crawford up there with the King! Or you're going to lose a lot of creditibility.
PS.  I think Kipper is in the king H debate, without the same type team in front.  In my eyes he has been the best over the last decade.

East coasters can put them back, nite, no doubt - but you're not about to teach a Saskatchewan farm boy  how to kill time between harvest and planting.

    Are you not entertained?!?!

That's for sure - there's not much else for us Prairie folk to do between October and May.

If he stinks or gets hurt, it's open season of course.

    Thank you.

Yeah...and what if he comes out 30-3 with a 1.70 GAA and a .930 s% by mid-season?  I'm not sure shupe should get an "I told you so..." provision without having to take some flak if Rask is playing out of his head.

Book, if you know me well enough i have no issue falling on the sword.  What if crawford has another solid year?   Is he more then a jim carey?  I think both have awesome yrs.  im very anxious to see him play 60+ games.  Another very interesting aspect is that there will be at least 2 rookie defense in the lineup.  Hamilton im counting as a rookie class with the others based on the shorten season.   Im more interested in the defense then i am the goalie.  I think there are gonna be some big battles to make it, then growing pains as young defense adjust.

I know, shuper; you'll stand up when you're wrong.  Just wanted to make sure that your special dispensation to talk Rask included both Super Rask and Lousy Rask.  And yes, I'll give credit to Crawford if he duplicates what he did last year, but then, I was never really anti-Crawford.  I just think Rask is better.

Just so NAS's head doesn't explode - the defense is going to be a much better conversation over the next 8 months+.  I'm really hoping the gist of that conversation is "How can they keep Bartkowski out of the lineup when they've won every game he's started?" "Because the PP% goes up 10 when Krug and Hamilton on the points, and goals for goes up half a goal a game."  "But it's about wins, not goals." "You need goals to win games."  Etc.  It's almost as predictable as the leaves changing colour - provided all three rooks are playing well.

Morrow is gonna knock hard as well.  Its gonna be a battle to get a spot.  And i think the 7th could be an outside guy.  Possibly a redden rerun.   Kids need to play.

I don't know maybe the two I drank under the table last wk weren't harvesters, or planters then. LOL. Both of them called in sick from work & when I called one of them his wife answered and said he wasn't available. I told her who I was & she said. "Oh you're the crazy fawker from the Maritimes that caused my husband to be sitting up in his bed with a puk e bucket between his legs."
