What a brutal shot he took, hopefully it missed his eyes. Anyone heard an update on him?? We may miss him on the PK although Krejci did look good filling in. -

Yes,we need Paille .I don't particularly care if he ever scores a goal with all he does defensively .He is such a beautiful skater.

Lucic cracking a joke about it is a good sign, right? The way that puck bounced back, it had to have hit him almost perfectly square. -

His helmet was covered in blood....That shot definitely got away from Staios. Noone in there right mind shoots the puck that high. Im surprised more guys dont get hit in the face from all the lay down shot blocking they do. Just nuts if you ask me. But its a big part of the game. -

I think it should be up to the players to decide if shields will be mandetory. Accidents will happen in any sport. Check this out:

Probably happens 10 or so times a year. With only a few being really bad.
I remember Getzlaf missed a bit of time from a real bad one last year and Roenick took probably one of the worst shots off the face I have ever seen several years ago.
I agree its amazing it doesn't happen more often especially when you have guys like Ovechkin ripping 100mph one timers neck high from 65ft away from the net. -

It's the nose, so lots of blood. Hope he recovers quickly as breathing though the nose is really vital on ice. -

I was just talking to a friend about how when the Bruins were doing some skating drills in camp, the only guy who could match Tyler Seguin was Danny Paille.
Let's hope for a speedy recovery. As a guy who an plays up-tempo, hustle role with lots of skating, you would think that breathing properly and getting enough air would be critical. I sure hope his nose isn't so trashed that it would affect his breathing.

"getting enough air would be critical"... i think this applies to all of us, wouldn't you say? hahaha. all kidding aside, i would like to suave or hamill step into that 4th line spot, and see what they can do. i've done a complete 180 on paille. i was all for his benching early on last year, but he definitely proved his worth in the second half and playoffs. maybe this is the shot for a young guy to oust poulliot or demote caron? a little competion never hurts. we'll see what happens. -

First thing I thought when I saw the replay was: "oh no, not another like Manny's". He had two more procedures during the summer, wasn't able to train, and is still not at 100% fitness.
But, luckily for DP, it didn't look like it caught the eye. -

Shields should be mandatory in my opinion. Those whom are against them probably cried the day the helmetless MacTavish retired. There is no reason not to have them. Eyeballs are pretty important, I'd say.
As for Paille, he gets roasted for his low point totals, but he earns every cent, every night. -

You know what else is important? Letting a man decide for himself. I'm not against shields at all. I prefer not wearing one but I won't get mad if you do. -

Broken nose surgery at Mass-General today or tomorrow for Pie yah. I just don't like how Milbury went on about his way on Versus last night to say it would be pu zz ification if the league made it mandatory but then again Mike did everything he could to get out of a pucks way his whole career. -

San, I will stress that I don't consider anyone less of a man for choosing to wear one. I just like the idea of having the choice. -

That shield possibly saved his life, right? Takes a lot of heart to throw yourself in front of 100mph puck every night... definately earns his pay. Speedy recovery Dan.

In Response to Re: Danny Paille:In Response to Re: Danny Paille : I think the only way that happens is if Peverley is still out as well. If that is the case, I'd like to see it. Whoever it is, Sauve or Hamill, I'd play them at wing. Their mission is to try and score goals. Posted by mattc355
"Both were in the lineup Monday because Rich Peverley missed his first game of the year with an undisclosed injury. If both Peverley and Paille remain out on Thursday, the Bruins will need to recall someone from Providence. Candidates would likely include Zach Hamill, who leads Providence with 5-5-10 totals in 14 games, and Carter Camper, who has 2-6-8 totals in 13 games. Lane MacDermid, who has 2-3-5 totals and 36 penalty minutes, could be a better fit replacing Paille in a fourth-line role."
Doug Flynn is even suggesting Carter Camper... -
