    In response to seobrien's comment:

He builds a 3rd rate roster with QMJHL level talent at goalie and defense...and he can't believe Dineen and staff couldn't coach them into contention. He must have compromising pictures of Vin Viola or something.

    Thomas is QMJHL level talent?

Tallon's job in Chicago is often lauded as masterful.

He showed up with the defense in place.

He picked Toews and Kane at the top of the draft.

A couple of guys stepped up.

    Stanley Cup.

He made a couple of decent trades, but overall, the foundation/superstar players weren't the work of Tallon.

In Florida, he's made so many bad moves, you wouldn't even believe them.  He sucks.

Ed Jovanovski - 4 years - $16.5 million at this stage of his career and effectiveness seems crazy.  Scottie Upshall - 4 years - $14 million are a bit out of whack for what for what can be reasonably expected of him.  Good speed that hasn't produced much as far as results. He topped out with 18 goals as a Coyote in 09/10. Tallon had to overpay people to get them to become Panthers.

I couldn't fit the entire spreadsheet on one picture, so you're going to have to follow along with the Row numbers.  This is a breakdown of Talon's moves up to right before the season started.  Omitted are the FA signings this year.

    Come on, Hang!

When Laviolette was fired, when Burke was fired, when Tortorella signed in Vancouver...there were threads about it.

    Panthers fire all coaches!

Dineen, Gord Murphy and Nosferatu all unemployed.  Pure injustice.

How would u know? I think the people with hundreds of millions of dollars know a little more about hockey than u do, and this is clearly a sinking ship so they where forced to make a big move.

Not sure about that Paul y - It's not because they have hundreds of million of dollars that they  always make the right decisions.

Just because they are rich and own a team does not mean they have more knowledge about hockey.

There's maybe four or five owners in the league who have made a sizable amount of their fortune through hockey, and only two I can think of who were financially successful in the hockey world prior to becoming NHL owners (Lemieux and Chipman, and they're both partnered with abusinessman with ridiculously deep pockets and minimal hockey expertise). Having hundreds of millions of dollars because you own an oil company or a media conglomerate or a real estate empire does not make you an astute hockey expert.
