Do you remember the Tuukka Rask trade?! Analysis...

Way back on June 24th, 2006 the Bruins traded goalie Andrew "Razor" Raycroft to the Maple Leafs for goaltending prospect Tuukka Rask. The presence of Timmy Thomas made the razor expendable. Razor went on to play only two years with Toronto before being released. His first year he tied a Maple Leafs team record with 37 wins but he finished 49th in the league in GAA and 56th in save percentage as the Leafs failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Leafs traded Rasks' rights because they determined that Justin Pogge was their goalie of the future, and Rask would not re-sign with them unless given a fair shot to win the starting job. The rest is history. Pogges career stats are 1-4, with a 4.36 GAA and is out of the NHL. So, thank you Leafs for the best goaltender in the league, one of our top offesive players in Seguin, and a good young defenseman in Dougy Hamilton! Go Bruins!

Bad deal.  The Bruins gave up too much.

Kinda puts you in mind of another pretty good trade involving Esposito, Hodge and Stanfield.

I remember Jeff Gorton walking up to the NHL official that he was about to tell the deal has been agreed upon laughing. I also remember when the cameras panned to the Bruins table after they showed highlights of Lucic during the Memorial cup, Gorton and one of the scouts were looking at each other smiling.

What a day for MOCs scouts Tuukka, Lucic and Marchand!
