Flyers at it again: Zolnierczyk leave hsi feet right at impact

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/flyers-harry-zolnierczyk-escape-nhl-punishment-latest-game-175437666--nhl.html

"It doesn't look like the head was targeted or the focus of the contact, but Zolnierczyk does leave his feet to make the hit and that will likely be what earns him a call with the NHL."

This one will be close call for the NHL.

Yeah he was looking for the big hit and then who's in the middle of this ... of course Rinaldo picking a fight with a guy that never fought in his life.

Looks like a pretty good hit to me - maybe a charge so that may be enough for a couple games

Agree with hang, not a blindside, no targeting of the head, looks like a pretty good hit to me as well.

Assessed as a 5-minute major for charging on the ice.

At full speed it sure looked like he left his feet to launch himself.

Sens trying to get after Rinaldo.  Alfredsson gets a cross-checking major and a game misconduct.

Agree dez, a bit of a launch.  Think Lundin needs better awareness to protect himself.

Weaver's crosscheck on Lucic was more egregious than this

The launch might just look worse than it was because it's hard to tell if it was before the hit or after.

Patches hit on McDonagh was target to the head & he left his feet & he's a repeat offender & he walked, so I expect nothing but complete confusion & inconsistency from Shannanhan, just like the rest he's turing into a real bum!

    My view:

    Contact with the head

    Player left his feet

I hate the "target the head" stuff.  No one knows what this player's intention was.

Definately left his feet... target the head? Regardless, Rinaldo needs to sit for his recklessness.

With the NHL Department of (orwellian) Safety looking at that play, blindside and he left his feet.  To any hockey fan ahem it was a legit hit!  Rinaldo is an azz.

You guys know it wasn't Rinaldo, right?  Did you watch the hit?

Isla, how it is blindside?  It was head on!

I think some are confused because Rinaldo gave a questionable hit to Phillips later in the game. Alfie tried to cross check him in the face for it.

I watched that game along with the B's out at the local hole today.  I thought the Rinaldo hit looked okay to me.  They just showed it again on Coaches Corner.  I still feel like it was a clean hit.

As for these guys mistaking the player/play, they should read the headline and click the link!

The Flyers just realized that they're well behind their annual quota for injuring opposing players.  They had to step it up.

These types of hits are the frustrating ones to me, because they could so easily be done cleanly.  He had Lundin totally lined up for a brutal, clean, open-ice hit.  Then instead of just hammering the body, he jumps into the air making all of the impact at the shoulders and above.  I don't get it.  Why jump?

    Suspend him.

And anybody notice who the nutbar Rinaldo went after ?

Kaspars Daugavins. He didn't have a penalty minute in 15 games this year let alone a fight before yesterday.
