NAS, this is exactly why he should have been given more consistent minutes throughout the season, especially as he began earning them more towards the end of Dec and after his helthy scratches.  If the kid works out some growing pains during Dec/Jan/Feb and starts to pickup his game and get more comfortable (ala hall), he would be a huge asset to this team in the cup run.  He would give us the one dimmension we lack, speed, scoring, top end offensive play.  Having this kid hitting his stride come this time of year would make us that much stronger.

You're right Dez, if Seguin was being groomed and growing to this point, he could add a scoring dimension to our 3rd line (at worst) that not many other teams in the league have.  Not to mention, if he was given the minutes to figure things out, he would be a great fit with bergy and march, what speed skill and still defensice zone responsibility that line would posses.

So Dez, not only are they not m exclusive, the link the other way is stronger.  If we want the cup, having this kid pickup his game more and more down the stretch would be like making another great deadline trade to bolster our team for the stretch run.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Fun No Matter What Tonight! : The same could be said of Hall to start the season, difference is, Seguin has got 7 minutes a night, Hall gets 18.  Seguin had more points than Hall until Dec, Hall started finding his game because he had the chance to (same could be said of Stamkos and pretty much every other top 3 picks who didnt "earn a spot" at first).  Seguin didn't get minutes (just like rask) because Clod was trying to save his own tail.  If we had Tyler hitting his stride after some growing pains, this team would be in an even stronger position than they are now, he just hasn't been given the opportunity to work through things like Hall.  Unless you consider setting up or being fed by Thornton a real shot and having things given to him.

No, the main reason Hall gets 18 minutes is because there is no depth in Edmonton.  He was also further developed gong into this year.  You can't compare their development, two entirely different situations and players.
