At least Ference was better tonight unfortunately the 1st line wasn't.

1- Wow, how do you let him get the shot off. 

2- Bs didn't deserve a point. Turning point was Boychuk's awful pass right up the boards to Ovy on the first goal (IMHO)

3- Done with Chris Bourque, give someone else a shot cause he ain't working on the 3rd. Paille works as he isn't a defensive liability but he has no finish.

On the bright side, the 4rth line had one of their best games of the season tonight. that said, something simply has to be done with that 3rd line. They are awful...

Except for Marchand and maybe the fourth line who, honestly, had good shifts, poor game for most Bruins...third line is awful as it has been for all season, Séguin, first line. What a collapse !

I'd like to never see Bourque again with the B's, except in Providence.

Yes JM, it absolutely was. Bourque has to take the puck or the man on that play and he missed on both. The goal before Kelly simply lost a faceoff. He went to get it with his skate but it kicked ahead on him instead. Tonight was hard luck for Kelly more than anything else.

Bs got schooled in the face off dot tonight which was a little suprising.

Gave the puck to the Caps right away. They may have just helped the Caps turn the corner- gave them their mojo back. Hideous o.t.

They just relaxed when it was 3-0. The second and third periods just coasting. The hitting was gone. The finishing off chances from multiple players. This had nothing to do why they lost the game, but can someone tell me y Bourque only plays like 2 shifts in the third, but all off sudden plays the last 2 minutes of the game at the point on the PP. I will give credit to where it is due. The Caps deserved to win but it should have not come down to that. They are lucky to get the point.

There are always going to be chances to score where one can say "if only he had put that in the game would be over." We don't really know that. The fact is, Washington out worked the B's (third line especially) and that is why the team lost.

Beagle !  has been killing them since the last playoffs.  He always setsup before anyone else and leans over that you can't get position. He did it all night even though it's the Bruins player that must setup 1st as the visitor.

The PP is supposed to be his bread and butter (at least that's how he was sold to us fans). I think CJ is very uncomfortable putting him out 5on5 and this is the only way he can perhaps get some use out of him.

OK, just to summarize a couple of recent threads:

1. We do/don't need a PP to win.

2. We should/shouldn't entertain trade proposals to shore up our scoring.

3. "So we lost a game - get over it. We're 14-2-2 14-3-3 and some fans are still complaining"

4. Questionable officiating.

Tonight I saw a need for a good PP, someone who can drive the net and finish the job, a slipping record and yes, some calls that make you go, "hmmmm...."

End of 2nd rant. I feel better now.

One thing I do believe though - this Bs team should be angry at themselves and that means that the Leafs are in for a $$hit kicking on Thursday.

Yeah, that 3rd line is just not clicking.  I saw Kelly in the 2nd period sag back to the blueline when Pev's was coming off the halfwall, but the seam was between the circles.
