    Game 39: Bruins at Senators

OTTAWA – Good morning from Canadian Tire Centre, where the Bruins will look to sweep the Senators in their home-and-home series. The Bruins trounced Ottawa last night at TD Garden, 5-0.

Dennis Seidenberg (right leg) will not play tonight. Seidenberg was injured during a collision last night with Cory Conacher. Claude Julien did not have any further clarity on Seidenberg's condition.

Carl Soderberg is also out. Soderberg hurt his head in last night’s game when he collided with the glass. Soderberg is experiencing concussion-like symptoms and did not travel to Ottawa.

David Warsofsky and Nick Johnson will play in place of Seidenberg and Soderberg. Warsofsky and Johnson were in Glens Falls, N.Y., ahead of Providence’s game tonight against Adirondack when they were recalled on an emergency basis. Warsofsky and Johnson had to return to Providence to retrieve their passports. They are scheduled to arrive in Ottawa this afternoon.

    Puck drop: 7 p.m.

TV/radio info: NESN (Jack Edwards, Andy Brickley, Jamie Erdahl), 98.5 The Sports Hub (Dave Goucher, Bob Beers)

    Records: Bruins 26-10-2, Senators 15-18-7

    Projected Bruins lineup:

    Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Jarome Iginla
    Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Reilly Smith
    Daniel Paille-Ryan Spooner-Matt Fraser
    Jordan Caron-Gregory Campbell-Nick Johnson

    Zdeno Chara-Torey Krug
    Matt Bartkowski-Johnny Boychuk
    David Warsofsky-Adam McQuaid

    Tuukka Rask
    Niklas Svedberg

    Healthy scratch: Chad Johnson

Storylines: Tuukka Rask was the first goalie off the ice this morning, indicating he will make his second start in two nights. Rask was in goal for last night’s shutout. Niklas Svedberg will most likely be his backup. Chad Johnson will be the healthy scratch for the second straight game… The Bruins have gone seven straight with a player scoring two goals per game. Reilly Smith was the latest to turn the trick last night... Ryan Spooner is from nearby Kanata. This will be Spooner’s second career NHL game in his hometown. Spooner planned to return to his parents’ home instead of going to the team hotel following the morning skate… Shawn Thornton was the last man off the ice following the morning skate. Thornton has until Tuesday to decide whether he will take his case to a neutral discipline arbitrator… Paul Devorski and Ian Walsh will be the referees. Michel Cormier and Matt MacPherson will be the linesmen.

Wow, Spezza is a key injury... but can't feel bad given the Bruins situation.

Is Svedberg up with the team? BadHab has a post in another thread saying he was sent back down which would make sense since I can't see them putting him in there with Chara and Seidenberg out.

Which even enhances my suspision that there was a trade in the works.

Escaped me. I guess the Bruins had to hire a limo to get Trotman to the rink. They don't have taxi cabs there or what?

Holy God. At least they don't have Spezza. That's the only way this is an even matchup ON PAPER.

We still got Tuukka, though. We'll see how this one shakes out with Boychuk and McQuaid as a de-facto shutdown pair.
