    Game 62: Capitals at Bruins GDT

    "It's only been five days since the Bruins last played the Capitals – a 4-2 Bruins loss – but they'll see them again tonight at the TD Garden, and both teams will look slightly different.

    The Caps brought in goalie Jaroslav Halak to join Braden Holtby. Meanwhile, the Bruins added two defensemen, Andrej Meszaros and Corey Potter. Meszaros took part in morning skate, while Potter is expected to arrive this afternoon.

    After this game, the Bruins head out on the road for three games, playing Tampa Bay, Florida, and Montreal.

    Game time: 7 p.m.TV/Radio: NESN/98.5 The Sports Hub Records: Bruins 39-17-5, Capitals 29-24-10

    Projected lineups:

    Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Jarome Iginla
    Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Reilly Smith
    Chris Kelly-Carl Soderberg-Loui Eriksson
    Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

    Zdeno Chara-Dougie Hamilton
    Matt Bartkowski-Johnny Boychuk
    Torey Krug-Kevan Miller

    Notes: Loui Eriksson returns from a heel infection that sidelined him for Tuesday's game. ... Andrej Meszaros will wear No. 41. Corey Potter will wear No. 6. ... Bruins coach Claude Julien said that Meszaros will not play tonight. The team will work on getting him acquainted with the system that the Bruins play. ... The trio of Milan Lucic, David Krejci, and Jarome Iginla has a combined 32 points over the last eight games. ... The referees are Greg Kimmerly and Mike Leggo. The linesmen are Michel Cormier and Brian Murphy."

    @NHLBruins

    Loui said he cut his heel in Sochi (getting into a cold tub); started to get infected the last couple days, but it's healing up now. Julien said Loui good to go tonight

    Meszaros not in the lineup tonight; will get acclimated with team, adjust to system.

    Looks to be #TuukkaTime tonight, as Rask is the first goalie off. ^CS

    @VogsCaps

    John Erskine is ailing and won't play tonight. Cameron Schilling is en route from Hershey and is expected to play tonight in Boston. #Caps

    So Braden "Vezina" Holtby starts against the B's again,how surprising,every other team can light him up but the Bruins seem to like shooting at his chest or miss the net altogether(i'm looking at you Dougie),the B's have to get over this guy,the romance is over,embarrass him.

    Chiarelli mentioned that in his presser that Philly plays man to man and would leave it up to Julien whether or not Meszaros will play.

    I think so too. Stay out of the penalty box, get the puck down low on Holtby.

    Should be a good game.  Gotta make the caps backend pay.  Outside alzner/carlson that group is really weak.  Philly focused on green early and often.  The 3rd goal was a result of the early pressure they applied bc green coughed it up hard.

    Stay outta the box and we win 5-2.

    Agreed. Dump the puck in down low to Greens side and you'll come out with possesion. Then keep the puck low, Holtby handles shots from the point very well, get some looks from the slot or get him moving side to side and you might have success.

    Lots of youngins on the back end.   They lack serious physical presence back there when john isnt in.  I liked Olesky last year.  Kinda like Miller.

    and stick a man on Ovie when he's on that left side. No way he should be that open to score 2 goals again, power play or not!

    Bruins making Holtby look good again. Let's try this Bs - how about avoiding the Capitals emblem ?

    Penner begging for a bruising from Z. LouI has a lot of hustle tonight, forecheck is great. 1st line having there way so far and they will score. Marchand being a pest this is good. Johnny B is made of steel.

    Pretty nice 1st period for the Bruins , any of these delicate minds , worried about the scabs and their shiney new toy . The Bruins are the yard stick by which every team is measured against. In the East .This team will be just fine come playoff time

    Here ya San but since the break -- noticed how many shots were going high and/or wide. I've been chirping to at least get it on goal and hope for a rebound. Guess we need to find a happy medium.
