Game 7: Bruins at Lightning - Game day thread

    "Is he in or not?

While Claude Julien said on Friday that there was a "good chance" that Carl Soderberg would play against the Lightning, the coach declined to share his lines before the game. So it's still a question of whether Soderberg will be in, which would necessitate sitting another one of his forwards.

The two most likely to find themselves in the press box tonight, should Julien put Soderberg in, would be Jordan Caron and Brad Marchand, though it might be a bit early for Julien to take Marchand out despite his middling performance over the early part of the season.

Soderberg would be a boon in one area for the Bruins -- net-front presence. It's something that the team has discussed that it needs to improve, and it's a place where Soderberg proved adept at scoring in Sweden.

It'll be especially important tonight against a hot Lightning team that has lost only once since falling to the Bruins in the first game of the season. Big goalie Ben Bishop and his 1.57 goals against average has been a major reason for the team's good start, and creating traffic around him would be a help for the B's.

    Game time: 7 p.m. TV/Radio: NESN/98.5 The Sports Hub Records: Bruins 4-2-0, Lightning 5-2-0

    Projected lineups:

    Lucic-Krejci-Iginla
    Smith-Bergeron-Eriksson
    Marchand-Kelly-Caron/Soderberg
    Paille-Campbell-Thornton

With the defensive rotation still going strong for the Bruins (and an optional skate this morning), it's unclear which player will be the healthy scratch on the defensive side.

    Tuukka Rask

Notes: Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop hasn't allowed more than two goals in any of his starts, and has won all five of them so far this season. ... The Bruins won the first meeting between the teams, 3-1, on the strength of two short-handed goals in the season opener. ... Martin St. Louis and Steven Stamkos lead the Lightning with 10 points each. No Bruin has more than five."

I believe Julien go's with Soderberg tonight probably over Caron. Soderberg earned his spot with the coach during training camp..........

Last week when in Boston theyre power play kept trying to force feed the one-timer to Stamkos. B's had it defended nicely, I wonder if Tampa mixes things up a bit.

    Nice, right off the bat.

Bishop, 5-0 with a 1.57 G.A.A so far. Pretty good

I would not mind seeing this guy pounded on the way to a Bruin win.

Soderberg had a nice shift there, would have liked to seen him shoot that.

I want Johnny B or Lucic to take out Gudus.

I think he had a few good shifts.  Certainly should be in the line up.  Who should be out of the line up - that was the mistake made IMO.

Oh, yeah! I enjoyed seeing Lucic get a bead on him in the TB end and give him a belt into the boards near the end of the period.

I thought Lucic looked really good in the 1st, Brought the skating legs. Actually that whole 1st line looked very good.

Marchand needs pressbox time, 2 dumb penalties tonight both for slashing.

I get a kick out of how Gordy and Billy talk about how good a grinder game Iginla's playing.  Top line wingers are suppose to be good a producing of fence' not grinding a lane.

McQuaid's shot probably doesn't go in without Iggy's screen
