    GDT 11-5-2013: hosting Seguin's Stars

    Obligatory copy/past of blog:

This game sets up as the return of Tyler Seguin to Boston. But it's going to mark another return as well. Loui Eriksson will be returning to the Bruins lineup to play against his former team, the Dallas Stars, after sitting out the last five games as the result of an illegal check to the head from the Sabres' John Scott Oct. 23.

It should also mark the return of Johnny Boychuk, who missed Saturday's game against the Islanders after injuring his back last Thursday.

"Their status is good," coach Claude Julien said. "Loui will definitely be in and more than likely Johnny as well."

Oh, and there's still that Seguin return to whip the Garden crowd into a frenzy, as the Bruins try to reverse their sagging fortunes of late. The Bruins have lost three of their last four games, including a lackluster effort against the Islanders Saturday.

    Game time: 7 p.m.

    TV/radio: NESN, WBZ-FM (98.5)

    Records: Bruins 8-5-0, Stars 6-6-2

    Bruins projected lineup:

    Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Jarome Iginla
    Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Loui Eriksson
    Carl Soderberg-Chris Kelly-Reilly Smith
    Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

    Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
    Dennis Seidenberg-Dougie Hamilton
    Tory Krug-Adam McQuaid

    Tuukka Rask
    Chad Johnson

Notes: The Bruins have lost three of their last four ... The Bruins are 2-1-0 against teams from the Western Conference ... Tonight's game marks the first of a five-game homestand, as the Bruins host Dallas, Florida, Toronto, Tampa Bay, and Columbus. It's the longest homestand of the season for Boston ... This is the first season the Bruins will play the Stars more than once since 2003-04.

    -------

If Eriksson scores, do we hear a "Thank you Seguin" chant?

    Thank you, Button!

Did anybody just watch that Seguin interview with Jack Edwards? Edwards seemed to be pushing his buttons; I thought Seguin was going to go all Jim Everett on him.

I have to say yes Doc we here a chant! What would be great is if Tyler stood up and took a Mariano Rivera 2005 opening-day-bow, now that would be sweet.

Can't give Boychuk and Fiddler fighting majors, it wasnt a fight. But, can Fiddler get instigating? McQuaid did when he went after Scott?

Power play looks terrific! Love the puck movement and players moving their feet instead of being stationary.

Seguin's hearing some boos.  No real surprise.

15-1 shot in favor of the Bruins before the 10min mark... now that's impressive.

Was there some scouting report on Rask to shoot high stick side?

Everytime Benn touches or comes close to the puck it's danger time.

Sure had a dangerous flurry there with less than a minute to go.

I don't know a ton of goalies that aren't susceptible to the blocker side high. I do know that most get shutdown when they go glove side on Tuukka.

Then again I don't too many in the NHL who can get a rocket of a wrist off that quickly with the trajectory of Benn. What a freakin shot!

Some Star's pressure at the end, but that had to be one of our better periods in recent history. Good puck movement on the power plays and the top three lines all having plenty of chances. Marchend (or however you say his name these days) definitely had some jump in his skates and Soderberg actually looked comfortable out there and made some good plays.

Boston with the great start but Dallas has responded. Seguin looks like he is on a mission.
