    GDT---PANTHERS VS BRUINS- GAME 61

With just one day remaining until the trade deadline, the Bruins take on the Florida Panthers tonight at the TD Garden.

The Bruins will be without Loui Eriksson tonight, with Jordan Caron taking his place on the third line with Carl Soderberg and Chris Kelly. Eriksson's absence is due to a "minor issue," and he is expected to return on Thursday against the Capitals. The issue is not related to the trade deadline.

    Game time: 7 p.m.

    TV/Radio: NESN/98.5 The Sports Hub

    Records: Bruins 38-17-5, Panthers 23-31-7

    Projected lineups:

    Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Jarome Iginla
    Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Reilly Smith
    Chris Kelly-Carl Soderberg-Jordan Caron
    Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

    Zdeno Chara-Dougie Hamilton
    Matt Bartkowski-Johnny Boychuk
    Torey Krug-Kevan Miller

    Chad Johnson
    Tuukka Rask

Notes: The game represents a great chance for the Bruins to pick up two points. Florida has the second-fewest points in the Eastern Conference, and the Bruins have beaten the Panthers in each of their last six games. They are 7-1-0 in their last eight games against the Panthers at TD Garden. ... Jordan Caron has played just twice since Jan. 2, with his last game coming on Jan. 27. ... The referees are Dean Morton and Brad Watson. The linesmen are Michel Cormier and Tony Sericolo.

Poor Loui trials and tribulations continue....Jordan to the rescue

The suspician is that Caron is in the lineup to be showcased. Maybe even for the Panther's benefit. That explains why Caron is playing but not why Loui is not. So perhaps Loui really has some issue to keep him out of the lineup and Caron is just first man off the pine.

Pretty sure reporters are the only ones who come up with this "showcasing" line. So I take it I'm Florida (or anyone) and I might be interested in Caron, but only if I see him in tonight's game first?

    Ugh.

Geeze, if I'm PC and someone shows interest in Caron, shouldn't I do everything in my power NOT to showcase him, and hope that the other team forgets he's useless?

How many of Florida's AHL affiliate San Antonio will be playing tonight ?

Panthers just got Pirri from Rockford.

Anson Carter just butchered Soderberg's name the other night.

Kelly blowing three great chances already. Hopefully 4th time is a charm.

A penalty, most likely Caron's only stat of the game. He needs to score so we can send him elsewhere.

Is it mandatory they take a delay-of-game AND too-many-men penalty in every game?

Did Thomas make his own equipment down in the bunker? But seriously, he has removed all of the manufacturers trademarks and logos on his equipment.

Too bad for Kelly on the blown chances because when you iso this guy -- his decision making off the puck is amazing. When 2 or 3 players come together on the puck he seems to know where the puck is going to go and he's there more than not.
