I was wondering that also. I like him, just wish he would be more concerned with scoring goals rather than giving them up. Nothing wrong with still trying to score when your up in a game.

I see a team that isn't trying and a coach that won't do what needs to be done.  Look how long it took to scratch Peverley.  On another team, Lucic would be demoted, have his shifts reduced or watch from high above.  Julien is too close with the players (is my guess) so he "can't do that to that guy".

Enough.  Do what needs to be done.  This is why coaches get the gate after a few years.

I'm sure he would have liked to bench Peverley earlier but the injury to Kelly, along with the non producing Bourque, Pandolfo and Caron getting in there wasn't many other choices.

If I'm John Torterella, I'm dreading that next shoe falling.

    Peter Laviolette ?

I guess they could make him the scapegoat but he didn't sign "Planet" Bryzgalov and they have had  a slew of injuries.Nothing would suprise me though.

Just another way of saying the title of "head coach" in sports.

True, although i think Holmgren is getting a free pass though.

I wonder what the ballwashers like Pierre McGuire and also K. Dupont are thinking now . They were singing the praises on how good Boucher was and the lesson he was going to give the Bruins .  Dupont went as far thinking the Bruins would not get past Tampa.

Funny because Julien is now the Bruins coach with the 2nd most wins and did something that was missing for more than 30 years in Boston therefore Dupont and McQuire can suck it !

Don't forget BsL, CJ was supposedly going to be outcoached in 4 straight series in 2011.

This really deserves a new thread - the next nhl coach to get fired thread.

Looks like the generically named Jon Cooper is taking over:

He was TB's AHL affilitate coach (Syracuse). Mystery solved.

While that's true (and the Bryzgalov signing was the stupidest deal of the decade), you could say Boucher didn't try to solve his team's awful goaltending problem from last year, when Yzerman kept a 78 year old fossil while he let Mike Smith walk and become an All Star, by plugging the hole this year with an untested Linback, another failure.

    Almost worse than Holmgren.
