He Belongs in Black and Gold!

Let me start by saying: this is not a "trade thread". This is a pipe dream not a proposal. I am simply curious...when you watch other teams play which players make you say "He belongs in black and gold!". Put another way, which players could you see as Bruins hometown favorites if they drank the dirty water? Not necesarrily the players you want to see because of their talent (Ovie, Nash, etc) but the ones who show the character, determination, skill and attitude that you expect to see to from this team. There are certain players that I respect simply because of how they play the game (Datsyuk most of all non-Bruins), but there are only a few that I can honestly say "He belongs in black and gold". Here is my offering:
1) Cal Clutterbuck: 5'10" and set the NHL record for most hits in a season. This guy brings it every shift. If he played for the Bs, he may have more jersey sales than Marchand.
2) Jamie Benn: Absolutely complete player, can throw a huge check as well as he can dangle. People love to compare Seguin's development to Stamkos. A fair comparison, but I would much rather see Seguin develop the way Benn has in his 3 years in the league. Seguin has the skillset to put up points way beyond what Benn has posted, but Benn has shown an extraordinary well rounded skill set for a such a young player.
3) Ryan Getzlaf: This one hurts me to admit. Getlzaf gets under my skin when I watch him play from my couch...now that's effective. Sometimes I think he and Lucic are related.
So what do you all think, agree/disagree? Which players do you respect enough to add to the list? -

I like Clutterbuck
Evander Kane
ooooh... the thought of him in black and gold ....ooooh
Grabovski
He's got a lot of heart and talent.
I saw Chara paste him and his legs were rubber for about a minute, he later scored in that game. He always has a good game against the Bruins. -

Totally with you on Evander Kane, BadHab...kid can play, not to mention the way he cleaned Matt Cooke. We should have paid his bonus that year.

Ryan Callahan is someone would have like to see in a Bruins uniform big, tuff grinder. Joe Pavelski another one who comes to mind a little more finesse than Ryan but same type of grinder.
Shane Doan tough, smart Steve Larmer type but bigger. TJ Oshie is freakin flying, skating, hitting, sniping little stud as well. -

Could not agree more with Evander Kane. When he's putting the puck in the net, he's as good of a "power forward" as there is. -

And Grabo scored a nice goal last night as well. His speed always impresses me when I see him vs. the B's and last night was no different. Hopefully he misses the team charter for Sat. -

I really like the Cal Clutterbuck idea. If I'm going to pipe dream, it's Sidney Crosby. One of my favorites of all time. I would also take Phil Kessel back if it didn't cost Seguin or the rest of the package and he came cheap. *ducks beer bottles and other projectiles. I enjoyed his speed when he was a Bruin, and would again. -

I believe it was the winning goal he scored after Chara crushed him. I remember he was groggy & was thought to have a concussion but stayed in the game & of course & scored the game winner in the last 2 minutes of the game. He seems to have the Bruins number for some reason. -

Chris Neil, would look great on the fourth line especially come playoff time. Can score some, an upgrade of Thronton.

its funny kel i was talking to someone about how skilled and good buffalo is but as presently constituted the buffalo team wouldn't go that far in the play-offs with paul gaustad fighting the teams battles. so the first name i thought of to help them in post season was neil at deadline -

Zack Kassian of Buffalo is very tough and has good skill. Kind of a Lucic type but far nastier. Evander would be great as well, as long as he promises to knock out Matt Cooke every time we play Pittsburgh. -

Wow, that is being honest! I too enjoyed watching Kessel play when he was a B and admire that style of offensive play (hence my handle on these boards) but I wouldn't want to see Kessel back unless he took a page from Datsyuk's book and learned how to use those fast hands for pick-pocketing in the neutral zone.
I still see Kessel as a one trick pony.
Speaking of Datsyuk - IMO he is the best all around player in the NHL, but it is hard for me to picture him in black and gold, perhaps just because I've always considered him the quintessential "Red Wing" (post-Yzerman). -

NO!! Sorry Loved the guy when he was on the Blues and that is the player you would want on the Bruins but not this version of Chris Pronger. Another aging player who hasn't/won't played/play more than 70 games a season for last season and future seasons.
