In Response to Interesting Stat: Proficiency Rating, Bergeron Tops Impressive list.:
[QUOTE]The 2005-2006 WJC-Canadian team was the most talented team that have played in the World Juniors. From that team, the top-5 most offensive players were chosen in terms to compare their NHL-career proficiency rating as of (1-10-11)...Crosby was not included, for obvious reasons. Patrice Bergeron = 46.1 Pro-rating Jeff Carter = 36.8 Pro-rating Mike Richards = 36.8 Pro-rating Corey Perry = 36.4 Pro-rating Ryan Getzlaf = 42.4 Pro-rating These ratings pertain to each individual's games played, points and Avg. Time-On-Ice. TOI to point % ratio in (X) amount of games will indicate an accurate proficiency level. For example, Bergeron TOI was the lowest among the listed players (16 TOI), where as the others were (20+TOI) which is why he is ranked #1 (Crosby not listed). However, this does not mean Bergeron any better or even up to par with these players. Just found it interesting that he has produce when given the opportunity.

As a big fan of his,I'm not at all surprised that, with all things considered,Bergeron is so highly regarded.
