Does anyone here know for sure when TT started posting these political rants on FB?

First of all they are not friends, you can like his page, not friend him.  If you go to the page right now you will see people calling Ronald Reagan a Nazi sympathizer, so this report from most likely a liberal radio station, is not exactly accurate.  Does he remove peoples comments that may go overboard, I imagine that he does.

My bad.....the page that I went to wasn't that one.  It was one where you had to "friend" him.  And he had too many friends so I can't "friend" him anyways.  So in that case, I'm not sure that 'The Sports Hub' was talking about when they said that he "deleted" friends.

[QUOTE]Here's how it works.  I'm in the movie/TV biz and I've seen this happen with actors/clebs before.  Athletes are similar. Thomas: -is turning 38 in April -has won 2 Vezinas -has won a Conn Smythe -has won a Stanley Cup -has gotten his big payday None of that means he doesn't enjoy winning and playing goalie, but he KNOWS he's accomplished about everything he could for an NHL goalie at his age.  There isn't going to be another 5-yr deal in 2014. He's in his "wind down phase of his career."  So, in the biz of sports and entertainment, performers/athletes tend to be more relaxed about voicing their opinions because there's less at stake professionally. Whether he opines or not, he knows there IS a realistic chance the Bs may try and deal him at some point next year as Rask is pretty much ready to take over the F/T role.

[QUOTE]I really don't care what he thinks or believes in but enough already. Is he trying to get traded? I keep hearing he doesn't want to be a distraction, but this isn't his first canoe ride, it is a distraction. You make any kind of comments and statements the media (or facebook and twitter) they are totally gonna jump all over you. That's not new. Once the media has the ball there gonna run with it. Quit giving them the ball because wether you like it or not , it is causing a huge distraction and one they don't need right now. "It doesn't involve the Boston Bruins" doesn't get it done Timmy. The mics are jammed in every other players face so obviously it does. Wake up and quit saying things until your either retired or traded.

I guess we are a little different then Savvy.....  You see after my two + years defending the constitution... I believe Tim Thomas has the right to say anything he desires.....  Now if he is on the practice rink or at a team function then they have the right to tell him that stuff can not and will not be discussed.....  However, if he is playing on facebook then he can say whatever he desires....

ONLY morons who think that a Hockey player knows everything would take anything he says as gospel anyway.

PERSONALLY I agree with some of what he says; YES THE GOV't "IS" stealing the money of the everyday people and making determinations on what they think we ne3ed to spend our cash on.   YES the gov't is currently attempting to eliminate the 1st ammendment by saying that silliness about the Catholic Church being required to support birth control for it's employees..... Are they required to give Viagra to the adulterers from the left also ( John Edwards)?

Again, although I agree with these two concepts it is because unlike Ruth Bader Ginsberg.... who recently stated that the constitution needed to be scrapped as it is a flawed document....  I believe that the Constitution is the only UNFLAWED thing in this gov't.   OF course - some of us have read the letters of our forefathers and understand the thinking behind the words of the documents that were created to run this country.

BTW; How Many Muslim CHurch Charitable organizations are their in America?.....  MAYBE they should be forced to open health centers and do as much good as the others have..... rather than making others stooop to the lowest common denominator.....

[QUOTE]Now that he's gotten a bit of a taste for it - subversion - Thomas is not going to stop. You can tell its giving him a rush. He won't be traded - Left or Right, hockey guys HATE this kinda thing. As good as he is, no one will want him. I'm all for freedom of expression. But Jeremy Jacobs is all about business. And no matter what entertainment game you're in, possibly/probably alienating or marginalizing paying customers is always bad for business. That is what Tim Thomas is doing and as long as he's collecting a paycheque with Bruins Letterhead on the top, it has EVERYTHING to do with the Bruins. Personally, I don't like it. I don't like or trust anyone whose impulse is to post a hit-and-run statement and then play coy or refuse to explain any of its motives or rationale. This is weak at best and cowardly at worst.  My hunch is that Tim's intellectual abilities on these subjects don't go much deeper than the rhetorical, headline-deep level. He won't explain himself because he CAN'T explain himself. Making a statement that won't bear or tolerate any scrutiny or is graffiti at best. And that is a slight to graffiti.

GORD.. so how much do you like the current president?  He is the king of Hit and Run and allow someone else to clean it up.....

}As far as the ignorance of your 1st ammendment statement... YOU are either for or against it.....  YOU cannotbe against it when it does not suit your feelings, and then for it when someone says what you like..... IT IS ALL OR NOTHING.   I do understand the sentiment that it is a business...  but give me a freakin break....  Jacobs is going to dump the best GOalie in the league for posting on Facebook?.... LOL   Remember he is at home, pon his own time....  How would you feel if your boss tossed your butt for speaking to your friends and followers on facebook.....  I hardly doubt that the attendance at any game the B's are in has dwindled because a masked man says that he doesn;t like the way the current gov't is doing things.   I understand that he is RICH, and therefore OWES you entitled ones a living..... but he is also allowed to speak if he desires, whether you like it or not.
I would be PO'd if he was with the team and said these things..... or if he was in uniform and said these things.... because then he is at an OTA, and that is no place for them....
How about you stop worrying about what TT is doing and get out and earn some more money and give it to the US Gov't to retire the debt..... after all so many have done so much for you so that you can sit and infringe on another's rights.... give something back!

Hey guys, I Love Timmy. 30+ years of being an absolute fanatical diehard Bruins fan, and he has given me some of my most fond memories of this team.

All I am saying is voice these opinions at a different time. His Co-workers are being bothered by this beehive of media activity and it's all from Timmy stirring the pot.

Agree or disagree with Timmy...I don't really care!! I'm a fan of Hockey, not politics and most of all a fan of ALL the Boston Bruins players. I as one of their biggest fans, I don't believe one player should partake in activities that will draw negative attention to his entire team. It is simply not fair to the others that are involved by association.
