    Jagr's goal celebrations

Personally, I've never like them or any rehearsed or preplanned goal celebration.  I think it's bush league.

Anyone notice he didn't do his goal celebration as a Bruin?

    From the Lowell Sun;

Jagr skipped the military salute he traditionally uses to celebrate a goal, saying he would save it for the playoffs.

"Or if I score a good goal," he said. "Not with my leg."

How dare you share an honest opinion on this board about a Bruin, especially Jagr?!

How dare he provide an actual quote, and not start a thread stating Jagr said something he didnt.

Also, see what I mean? Your incapable of just contributing to a conversation without being antagonsitic.

My 7 year old used to be like that. Key words "used to".

I'd much rather see the salute than the hockey hug.

Grown men hugging every time one scores a goal is very homo-erotic.  I've never understood it and have never participated in it.  High fives, low fives, glove bumps, helmet taps...all fine ways to say, "Great job".  Like the football and baseball fanny pat, I just don't get the idea of scoring a goal and jumping into a man's arms.

At least he knows the rules of the game, and doesn't hang his hockey involvement with having a puck stolen from him in a pickup game from a nobody.

    UFC Channel.

The fighters practically make out with each other. Hugging, wiggling, changing positions...disgusting.

Wait a second.  Let's have another look at a typical post goal celebration and see what NAS is talking about.  I never noticed anything ...

Wait a minute!  WTF was that?!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lAemQnzXeU

    Well, we traded Colbourne thankfully.

It's not like a real player would do that during a game.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5h1A_hH-F8

OK, that was just Tikkanen, not a hockey player's hockey player like Stevie Y

    Darn.  Maybe they're all gay.

How about looking at your view as homophobic? Why can't guys hug? Doesn't have to mean anything sexual. Since when did hug become allowed only if there's a female involved? I'll give you the fanny pat, no room for that, but a hug is a hug mate.

    Great stuff BHab.

I'd rather watch hockey players hug after a goal than what the thugs in the NFL do after they score, or, catch a 3 yard pass on 4th & 4, record a sack, make a tackle, break up a pass etc..

I wonder if NAS has ever seen the movie American Beauty?

Sometimes people who are really vocal about being anti-gay are gay themselves.

Anyways, I'm here to talk about hockey.  Individual post goal celebrations also call too much  attention to the individual, I think a good team player won't do it.

I'm OK with a celebration...used to be, score a goal and both hands went up over the head...now, it's a one knee flying fist pump. I can live with any and all of it, even the "military salute". But, when the chest thumping, bouncing up and down, in-your-face look at me how cool am I stuff starts, I'll have to find another sport to watch. All that stuff is a big reason I WILL NOT watch basketball. Do not want to see it in hockey.

Anything born out honest emotion is all good. Even if it seems keenly alive and exuberant to do so.

This is why the NBA and NFL are hard to watch, self gratifying, look at me, pre rehearsed celebrations make me want to pyuke.
