What are you talking about? Unless you can find other news, this is what I understand:

Given all the injuries to the B’s, you’re probably wondering why Jay Pandolfo hasn’t played yet. Allow me to explain: Pandolfo, with the club on a tryout basis, would have to be signed, and would put the B’s at the 50-skater maximum, meaning that they’d have to trade somebody on that 50-skater out of town if they’re to upgrade a certain position at the trading deadline. In essence, the B’s are understandably hesitant to waste that crucial No. 50 spot on a guy that’s a 13th skater at best.

He doesn't even have a contract with the Bruins, what are you upset about?

Was I the only one confused about this thread? The guy is only on a PTO. Last time I checked one of these "old guys" played a part in our Stanley Cup championship.

Jamie Tardiff is a 28 year old career minor leaguer who was taken in the fourth round 10 years ago. How does he hold the key to the B's success?

This guy is another one of Stanley's aliases by the way guys. Check out when he arrived and who's threads he first replied to. Sure Stanley is taking a month off.............what a clown.

Pandolfo is a local guy so it's really - try out and practice with the team, if you play, you play, if not retire.
It's sort of like a gym membership

Why not ? Already mention Tardif ? Bourque is still getting into the NHL scene. Spooner is still not ready for the big step, but is getting some NHL experience.
Pandolfo once he is in condition will be a Bruin like or not, and I agree having him as a 13th forward playing PT position. He is not the the goal scorer/or point getter, but can play ultility hockey and improve / help the third line players Thornton ( concussed) Paille ( is hurting) and Bourque ( time will tell to see improvement and which is getting there). The mngt. is taking their time putting Marchand back in.
Rask and Pandolfo will be signed to contracts and PC/company will go from there. PC will make a minor league deal to stay with in the roster limit.
We can always call up Whitfield instead of signing Pandolfo! Yikes, good thing i am not serious.
Boston already have enough penalty killers, so one more will not hurt.
I am waiting to watch the games this weekend to see how the changed PP units work out. They had enough time to practice, now the litmus paper is ready , TB and BUFFALO.

Queue the complaining. I personally wont mind this signing for a 13 th forward.
@TSNBobMcKenzie: BOS is likely to sign vet Jay Pandolfo to a contract this week. He has been skating/traveling with Bruins without a contract.

I would complain since his numbers look rather dismal, but in PC I trust.

Pandolfo has been in the league since you were a baby in diapers ( cloth, I'm guessing ).
Why would you even have to go his numbers to know what the Bruins would be getting ? Are good numbers important for an occasional 4th line/penalty killer fill in ? -

Good numbers would be nice, wouldn't it?
I'm ok with Pandolfo, he brings experience and is fine for a 4th line.
I'm afraid I'll be back in diapers before too much longer, it will be convenient I think.

Darn. I shouldn't have gone with the diapers thing. Next thing you know some aggressive drunk Canadian will start calling me stinky or something.

Waste of a roster space if signed. He is no Recchi or even a Rolston......can't PC do any better than this? Do we really need another marginal 4rth liner?
His stats in cas anyone is interested:

He has been horrible for several years now.

Spooner shouldn't even be brought into this conversation. For this season I'm pretty sure PC wants him playing a top 6 role in providence as opposed to getting 5:29 a game in boston

No issue with this. Give him a shot. He can play a system for starters and knows how to lift a cup. Its cheaper then making a trade for something similar. Give him a chance.

He ia an aged pk specialist who has not put together a nhl worthy season since 2008. Last I checked, we need help with the PP (28th in the league) not the PK. Might as well just call up Whitfield and save some money. -

Maybe he just needed to rest for a while.

lol.....well here's hoping. I would be glad to be proven wrong. I just do not see at all what he is supposed to bring to the B's that they do not already have an overabundance of. -

Best start in Bruins history. Tim Connolly is a pp machine. I already mentioned him as an option. -
