Kaberle's best game as a Bruin

He might not have scored , he played okay in the d-zone but moved and passed the puck really really well.

Legion - I think tonight was his best game with Boston since his first game as a Bruin.  He played with confidence and efficiency.  It couldn't come at a better time.

He was competent in his reduced minutes, only just over 15 which includes PP time. his value is more and more of a third pairing. I am not upset however. Whatever works. I want the cup...

That's the player PC thought he was trading for. It'll still be a great deal if Boston can keep on winning.

Agree.  He actually played with some intensity, shot a few pucks and moved and kept pucks into/in the zone.

I don't think it was too much... he knew what expectations were.

But I agree this was his best game so far and if the heat is what did it, then throw some more on the fire.

Tomas played with confidence that is the player PC wanted tonight he was good, really good. Yes if Kaberle keeps playing like tonight the Bruins will role with confidence as well.

Disagree.  Everyone on both teams knows he is going to pass and where he is going to pass.  Mostly around the perimeter.

Did he break up any 2 on ones or stop any breakaways?  Did he offer any sliding sweep checks?  Did he crunch St L or Lecav on the boards and come away with the puck?

And his vaunted PP rushes-- how many threw our forwards offside?  At least five!!

CCM, Not once did Kaberle put the team offside.Your disdain for Kaberle is obviously clouding your vision.Which D played better than him?

I thought he played better....I like the fact that he actually shot tonight. It adds more dimension to his play when he shoots. He needs to keep shooting.

I really liked the way the entire team responded....whatever CJ said , it was working last nite...kaberle, seguin, ryder, marchand, paille....all played extremely well.  While we weren't perfect I feel our confidence is BACK...now if we can get that same effort intensified for game 3 we can put the pressure on them and not us.  Let's go Bruins!!

Agreed. We always hear that Boston is one of the best 5-on-5 teams out there, and the Kaberle situation is a nice microcosm of this theory. It's all about finding the right matchups, and Kaberle on the 3rd pairing creates an advantage for Boston whereas having him on the 1st or 2nd does not.

Re: Kaberle's best game as a Bruin

Kaberle had a decent game.  But, you don't give big contracts for 1 game.  If he plays dominantly the rest of the way, then I think you think about it.  But, he's a slow puck mover while the league is all about speed nowadays.  Not to mention his age.

I say wind him up and watch him go.  Then just watch him go.

We have to remember Kaberle is not a #1 defenceman.  He's a PP specialist and a great passer.  Yes he is a defensive liability and does not deliver Boychuk-style bodychecks, his speciality is his smooth passes.  Expect 3 goals and 50 assists next season.

Nice seeing Kabs step up tonight. He was extremely good in the offensive end.

Keep it up Kabs. We need him to perform
