This is silly; however if you look at things seriously, from what I saw during the playoffs especially from the Bruins (and the Lightening to a lesser extent), the Leafs are so far away from being a cup contender.
They don't have depth, they currently have maybe 3 'top 6 forwards'. I think the defensive corp is solid and goaltending should be much better, but the Leafs are not tough enough yet, don't have enough scoring and don't have any track record.
They are on the right track and potential; but you start by making the playoffs and go from here. Until they do; anyone talking stanley cup is delusional.
How many really good Bruin teams faltered in the playoffs last few years. Leafs don't have that kind of team yet. -

Maybe just shooting for the playoffs would be a good idea for them. Although now that they dont owe us any more #1s, maybe thats not such a good idea either. -
