Always loved Lafontaine as a kid and wore #16 because of him.

Hope he can lock up John Scott long term before he slips away...

@NHLFREEAGENTS "Buffalo Sabres fired head coach Ron Rolston and GM Darcy Regier, Hire Ted Nolan as head coach #NHL"

Does LaFontaine have any expierence in any NHL front office ?

Edit: He worked 6 weeks in 2006 for the Islanders as a senior adviser to Charles Wang. Resigned in protest after Neil Smith was fired.

    Oh Ok...

LaFontaine is beefing up. He looks like my Australian cousin.

Hated him when the Sabres swept the Bruins in 93', Pat was awesome in the 96' World Cup.

Maybe Nolan will ask to bring back  Hasek ?

With all of the concussion problems that Lafontaine had over his carreer, Scott's Buffalo days should be numbered...good time to make a statement re: head shots and the guys that make them.

Congrats Red. Even though that was like predicting the sun will come up tomorrow.

Deadline but only if Anaheim has dealt one of their goalies first. Murray is in the absolute drivers seat right now for teams looking for a goalie and his team is playing well.

I wonder why the "interim" title for Nolan. Why not just give him the reins? He can't do any wprse than what's happening right now there.

That roster is just terrible.  Leino is their highest paid forward.  He has one point.  Why is he still in the NHL?  Hodgson, Stafford, Moulson, Ott (for what he is), maybe Foligno are NHL players, the rest are borderline at best including Ennis, who I once thought could be a good undersized scorer.  They're not as small as they were, at least, so maybe Nolan can work with that?

Plenty for Lafontaine to fix, not much but Cap Space in the cupboard to fix it with.

Nolan coming on actually kind of suprises me. Not that I put much thought into who would be the Sbres coach should Rolston get canned but still, kind of suprised. I would guess they feel he is good with young players and their development becuase that what looks like they might have going forward, especially if they reade Miller and havoing all those picks.
