    Lame update, Fluto

C'mon, man!  That's not even a real lick of salt let alone the tequila and lime.  When will your audience ever be in a better mood, or more attentive to good updates, than now?

Anyone sees a more in-depth look at the D-Camp, please post links.

Kirk Luedke has stated that he will be posting updates later tonight.

I am highly intrigued because, I prefer Kirk's analysis of prospects more then anyother Bruins writer.

Second best are the people on this board who watch alot of Junior Hockey.

    Re: Lame update, Fluto

I'm torn on all this. On one hand, I've never been more interested in development camp and I agree there's a hungry fan base that doesn't want to take the summer off. This part of me wants any info I can get.

But on the other hand, what can truly be gleaned from some young kids doing drills on Day 1 against one another? There is no context. Forget speed of slap shot, how would Hamilton's decision to shoot, pass and skate change with a guy like Campbell laying down in front of him? Would Knight win a puck battle and make a play to the net with Marchand in his face? How does Spooner react after being flattened into the boards by Boychuck? That stuff ain't happening, so I'm hesitant to think much about this particular camp. When the big boys gather later this summer, I'd be much crankier about getting good info.

It's a process asmaha.  I have no illusions that I'm going to get any sense of whether these guys can compete when Pronger's on D or when Dustin Brown's bearing down on the forecheck.  It is interesting to see them in the simple bubble of the relative quality on July 8th of the group.  You know the hockeysfuture.com chart where they rank the top 20 prospects and then list "others".  Lots of others at D camp.  Fun to see if anyone can make an impression that makes you think they should move up the list.

    All information is valuable.

True that. My post was halfhearted anyway. Of course I'm interested in hearing about these guys. Just playing hard to get...
