2008-2009 Glyder was also awesome in the Postseason.   A gifted scorer's touch with motivation issues.  Frustrating as heck to watch.  Guaranteed to take shifts off.

So we'd trade for him and he would give a lacksadaisacal effort until we reached the playoffs.  Then would be awesome once we got there. Re: Dallas not wanting to trade him: touche.

Glyder scored one goal in the Carolina series, that is not awesome. That is pathetic with the TOI he was getting. If you mentioned the bolded response to PC he would laugh at the suggestion.

You've been corrected by Stanley.  There is no greater humilation...

Seriously though, this is a dumb idea on several levels, that has been covered so many times I don't want to get into it.  In brief:

    Too expensive.

Dallas has no reason to part with him; big part of their team

Dallas would never except your list of B-rated AHL prospects for a top 6 forward(!)

Ryder was not well liked last time he was here.

    Where would he play?

The PP stunk with Ryder in 2011

Like Wheeler, Ryder looks better now because he's getting much more opportubity on a team with less talent.

    And many more...

FLETCHER...I'LL FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS ONE....IT WAS FUNNY !

Dumb post Fletcher. Criticizing a player because he gets an opportunity AND produces? Bourque's getting an opportunity, what's he produced? Dumb, dumb, dumb! Anyone who things the B's 3rd line is set with Bourque is D-U-M-B.

You ask to not have vindictive posts, and start this thread with an unprovoked attack against one of the more knowledgable posters here? Who is the one being vindictive? That's a pretty scuzzy post.-Red 75 and SEObrien

Check Dez's prior responses RE my posts and then tell me I wasn't provoked. You three, Dez, SEObrien and Red 75, are the scuzzez.

What I don't get is why these threads never seem to talk about players that actually could be traded - meaning there have been talks or rumours of a somewhat reiable nature that they may be moved. Instead of talking about a guy like Ryder, a player that Dallas has ZERO reason to trade, why aren't players like Boyd Gordon brought up? A player that is UFA, that the Coyotes could want some return for, a player that Boston has the assets to trade with, and a player that would be beneficial to the team? There are a number of players that fit that criteria similar to Gordon, yet we never read about them in these threads - these threads never take the reasonable route in terms of what players are actually attainable and available.

This is an off shoot from the Ex-Girlfriends thread...blinders only for those that:

    - used to play in Boston before(and are doing OK now).

Sometimes posters are also attracted to players who:

    - were born somewhere in the New England area OR

    - played at one of the colleges in the aforementioned area.

If someone ticks all of the boxes above, WE WANT HIM !

You really seem to have trouble understanding even the simplest arguments, but I guess I'll try one more time.

It should be obvious that what I wrote about Ryder playing better in Dallas was not a criticism.  Very obvious.  I think you're the only one who tripped up on that.  Read it again.

The point is that when our 3rd line guys (Wheeler, Ryder) go to teams that give them 1st line opportunities and minutes, they produce more.  They are playing with 1st line guys, getting more ice time, getting more PP time, and focusing on scoring more than checking/backchecking in Julien's system.  You still with me?

So, the assumption that they would now come back to Boston, playing on the third line again with less ice time on a deeper roster, and miraculously produce differently than they did last time, is a dumb one.

We can't offer the same opportunities for Ryder and Wheeler that they got in Dallas and Winnipeg.  It's simple.  If you don't understand that, read again, and again, until you do.

    Is Couturier still huge?

Anyone still think Chia was smart letting Ryder and Pouliot go? Looks like he's in a pickle now, looking for a player like Ryder of Pouliot. Thanks Chia, looks like you're going to have to give up the farm now (1st round pick, Coco, etc). Dumb to let Ryder go. He be a Bruins killer now till he retires.

Yes lets all remember Pouliots 1 goal in 7 games against Washington last year in the playoffs and his awesome dump-in-slapshot that sent Ward the other way for the OT winner in game 7.

Yah Montreal is going trade a player they just got to a division rival when both teams are battling for home ice advantage in the playoffs.

Anyone watch the TSN feed last game? The analysts made a point of showing Ryder floating around as Boston scored twice. They said his disappearing act (along with big cash) was the main reason PC chose to let him walk. Ryder was able to win because he was a Bruin. Not the other way around.Pouliot stinks. People should be embarrassed to suggest that he shouldn't have been let go.
