Lockout? What the hell are owners thinking?

I'm at a complete loss
This is the most lop-sided, delusional proposal I've ever seen. It is clear the NHL is not rational.
I'm really worried about all the egos involved in these meetings. They better not do anything stupid.
New fair and balanced rules by the NHL:
-- A player must play 10 seasons before qualifying for unrestricted free agency.
-- Contracts would be no longer than five years. (Brooks adds that the proposal eliminates signing bonuses and mandates the same salary in each season of a contract)
-- Salary arbitration would be eliminated.
-- Entry-level contracts would last five years instead of three.
Here's a few other articles I would recommend.
