Marco Sturm?

    Marco Sturm?

Currently playing in Cologne, Germany, his knees seem to be okay, UFA. 5 playoff games in Germany, 2 goals, 3 assists.
He signed with Cologne just eight weeks ago - he has an exit clause if the NHL comes calling.
And the DEL playoffs will be over by April 24 anyway.
Miro Šatan 2.0? I think the B's could do much worse than Sturm.

i believe he has to be brought in by the deadline to be eligible.

I liked Strum when he was healthy but that is the problem Marco got injured at the worst possible time(s). Loved his goal face Rraaaagghh! Really too bad about all those ACL/MCL injuries.

What I see is the Bruins getting two big wingers for the playoffs.

I wouldn't trade Couturier for Clowe.

    Sturm? Really?

I hear Byron Bitz is available, too.

And Bruce Shoebottom still laces 'em up now and again. Wonder what he's up to.

MrHulot that picture is priceless. Love it.

I seem to recall thinking when healthy he wasn't terrible. For nothing? Why not?

I also loved the picture of Sturm after he scored the game winning goal in the 2010 Winter Classic against the Flyers at Fenway Park. Always liked Sturm, just way too many injuries.

And I just love constructive criticism (facepalm).

You want to be a GM, Stanley? Start thinking outside the (NorthAmerican) box!

Pandolfo is 38 and way over the hill, Sturm is just 34. If his knees are okay - a big if - he could be a steal, given that the Bruins would only have to pay his salary.
    (302 games for the B's, 106 goals, 87 assists, +24. Shoebottom, my a**.)

Thanks Mr.H, I love that shot of Sturm. I will always remember him for that goal and also the dramatic game 6 winning goal he scored against the Habs in the first round of the 2008 playoffs to tie that series at 3. He did score some clutch goals for the B's. Even at 34, you would think he would have to better than Pandolfo. I wouldn't be against it, that 3rd line is horrible right now.

It's only the DEL, but he still seems to have his wheels. Jason Bacashihua (ex-St.Louis Blues) in goal for Straubing.

Bring him back on a 1 year deal. Pro-rate it and it costs us nothing to give him a shot. Way better than Pandolpho, sorry Jay.

Not a bad idea... this is exactly the kind of move that PC likes to make (under the radar, give nothing away, possible upside with no real downside - except for the Kaberle trade.)
