It's all rumblings I guess out of Vancouver, they don't want to give information. With Boychuk not being reviewed I don't see them rushing to get a report out.

If Boychuk gets suspended it will be purely because of media pressure.  That same *general sort* of a play happens all of the time, there was no penalty on the play, it appeared that Raymond would handle the puck much like a player appears to be able to handle a loose puck lying in the goal crease and no one but no one complains about that play.  Although Raymond didn't actually handle the puck it was just about right on his stick which is exactly when Boychuck first made contact.

Also, watch the replay very carefully

Raymond appears to be the one who first initiates contact by putting his stick down over Boychuk's preventing Boychuk from playing the puck.

Boychuk won't be suspended. Won't even go in for a review of the hit. This was just a freak play.

as objective as i am i can't believe van wanted a review. positioning on the ice. i like raymond.  hope he is ok.
van is missing some very key parts.  hamhuis/rome/samuleson/raymond.
I know we are missing horton but those 4 are key.
I said prior to the start of the playoffs that the healthy team normally is the team standing at the end.   we have been extremely fortunate.

I know we all wish him a speedy and full recovery. It was encouraging that he was able to get up and skate off with some help. I read that he was taken to the hospital on a stretcher but it could have much worse. All the best to him.

It was actually very scary for me.  I had a friend in high school break his neck in the exact type play.

When It happened I had a huge flashback and all those feelings came rushing back.  Then, for second, I thought it might be a dive, but that didnt last long.  You could tell he was really hurt, the way he wasnt moving and his face said it all.  I couldnt believe they only had one trainer out there and I was freaking out, screaming at the TV to get some help out there.  I felt like I was 17 again.  The feelings of seeing my friend and teammate in the hospital, wearing a halo, hooked up to machines, etc., was completely overwhelming me.  When they skated him off the ice and he literally couldnt even hold himself up I couldnt stop screaming at the TV.  It was so scary looking.  He couldnt even pick up his feet to get into the bench.  And when it showed them going down the hallway, I thought he was going to collapse.

I hope he is OK.  That was really scary looking, and I was completely ashamed of the crowds chanting during the whole ordeal.  It wreaked of something the Habs fans would do.

They should move him to Montreal General Hospital, we have specialists in house for that very injury.
I feel for him, to fracture your vertebrae must suck. I hear he also broke some bones.

In all seriousness, I was kind of wondering if it was a severe testical injury -- where one of the seeds slipped out of the cup, and was bashed into the boards there.  Obviously a vertebrae injury is even worse, but at least it doesn't make me squirm in my chair.

Too bad for Raymond.  I did have one short moment of shame last night when the fans were taunting him.  He seems like a stand-up player and hasn't been a part of the diving and antics we've seen from his teammates.  He has fasntastic speed too -- a scary forward for us.  Wish him the best.

Any talk of a suspension is crazy.  Boychuk did nothing wrong there, just an unfortunate thing.

I cant believe he got up and off the ice with help....Having fractured vert's can lead to paalysis if moved too much. Im surprised the team docs let him get up. But what do you do when the player says he can....Huh.

The total lack of class shown by some boston fans is beyond belief! I heard Mason Raymond
maybe out 4-6 months with a serious back injury! Yes that is a tap and or diving!! No penalty for boychuck. Marchand can start punching one of the highest scoring players in the NHL..(right in front of a ref) no penalty.Daniel is not a fighter. (...Just as the great Gretsky was not!)
Yes boston played better last night. But it will be a different game on wednesday in "Canuckouver" !!! I hope Canuck fans show 100% more class than boston fans.
    GO CANUCKS GO

Whatever his injury, I have the greatest respect for this young man, unlike the Boston fans who chanted he was a flopper while he lay injured on the ice, and cheered on their own team in celebration when he left the ice. Boston fans need some life skills. No excuse for acting like that.

While the fans cheering during the injury was certainly not a proud moment for Boston (we have the decency to admit that), Raymond might look to some of his teammates (ahem Lapierre, Burrows, Sedin) as a reason why the fans would initially be doubtful that he was really injured.  When you see injuries faked enough times in one series, you become conditioned to be doubful.  Sad for the fans, sad for the Vancouver team, sad for the game.

At any rate, I wish Raymond a quick recovery.  He's been a great player in the series, is fun to watch, and most importantly, he has played with class.  Too bad his entire team doesn't play that way.

    Go Bruins!

Funny how the Bruins fans mocking the demands for a penalty to Boychuk for his late hit are the same ones who were bawling like little babies over Burrows' little nibble. Boston is full of hypocrites and who don't understand the basic rules of hockey
