Maybe the B's should write a letter to the league

Ever since the Caps sent the letter following the Backstrom suspension the rtafs have totally screwed us. Best example would be today's game. Pouliot's penalty call was total BS! -

Waht Pouliot did is done constantly all game long and not called. A real joke.

Therefore when Paille was killing off that penalty and was going around Wideman with no puck and Wideman interfered at the blueline that should have been a penalty, no ??
If they put away the whistle, they have to do it for both teams.
Officiating in the playoffs has been awful ! -

It was absolutely a penalty, but after watching game after game with the refs swallowing the whistles in the 3rd, its a pretty ticky tack call. Of course, the B's tied it on a power play (?) so fair is fair I suppose.
If the B's could win these easy series it wouldnt matter much, I guess. -

You want to compare the cross check in the face Wideman gave Marchand ?
That has to be called.
If they want to call the rulebook to a "T" then they must call Wideman for interference just before they go up ice and score the eventual game winning goal and maybe the series winner.
What about the elbows to Chara and Bergeron's heads ? Bergeron might be out for good. Kiss this year goodbye.
The same with Malkin on Grossman . -

In Response to Re: Maybe the B's should write a letter to the league:The larger reason is that the TEAM let up after they tied it 3-3 and let the Caps keep coming at them. When you do that, your chances of getting a penalty increase. Yeah, Pouliot didn't help. How about falling behind 2-0? Then 3-2? Who's fault are the other 3 goals?

To all defending the poor officiating. Watch the last replay when the B's had Thomas pulled. Don't remember exactly who it was who had a rebound chance in front of Holtby but a Cap player had him in bear hug. No call on a REAL scoring opportunity, not a blue line love tap! BS BS BS BS.

because we're righteos on this board, we see it as it is and we don't whine.
Then when foul play is done to one of our players we don't say anything.
There could have been so many penalties called . -

Might have been abit of a chintzy call but they didn't lose because of the power play. Thomas has to save that shot and he was not great on 2 of the other goals' He has bounced back in the past so hopefully he will again. As far as calls go every team is going to get some bad calls. Good teams overcome them and find a way to win. Teams that can't find a way to overcome them whine abour bad calls and non calls (see the Canucks). -

Yes the goal by the Caps to go ahead was a missed call, but let us face the facts the Bs are not playing winning hockey. Pouliot had a dumb penalty, but others have not shown up, and Thomas crowned the affair with suspect goaltending. Is McQuaid that good? -

Sounds like some of the guys over on the Patriot board. I have a lot of respect for many of the regulars over there because you very seldom hear them bring up the officiating when they lose. I think we all tend to notice the penalties against our own team more so then when our team commits a penalty. I wouldn't count the Bruins out though, they are the defending champs and I look for them to rebound in game 6. Good luck in game 6. -

Thanks for the post. You're right that many fans like the easy way out and blame the refs. Unlike football NHL refs don't call the rulebook on iffy calls late in a game that is tied, to the team that is losing and in OT.
Agree or disagree with this it's the way it's always and mostly been called.
So now, if you have two refs , that only only missed the crosscheck by Semin and then scores the 1st goal of the game , they call a borderline slash on a tied game . Yes they applied the rulebook no matter what point in the game then why didn't they apply the interference rule on the Caps just before they score the game winning goal ?
That's what is so frustrating, no consistency in their logic ! -

TT is being outplayed, last 2 Caps goals should not have happened. Korvo play should have been stopped like when Wideman went down in game 4, same situtation.Tough call with less than 3 min left too.Let's see what the Champs are made of tomorrow... Go B's!
