Not good...replacing McQuaid with Aaron Johnson is a huge drop.

I don't know if there's any help down in Providence either, how has Krug been playing?

Warsofsky, Cross, Cohen, Exelby, Bartkowski...any of these kids worth a look?

Hey- I was at the Providence game this Sunday, to me it looked like the only D men that could possibly step up were Krug and Exelby. Cohen made 2 of the worst giveaways I've ever seen in professional hockey. I think Krug seemed to play a faster game and was more noticeable on offense than Exelby, but was not able to get forwards off the puck when he needed to defensively, where Exelby could. I guess if the Bruins wanted to get help from the farm one brings more defense, the other more offense. But it was only one game so who knows.

Hard to believe this weak-sauce team could get any worse.

I guess we won't have to wait until the third for the nightly collapse.

Aaron Johnson played 17:43min against FLA, 16:13Min against NJ and 16min against WPG this season and he was just fine, not a huge drop at all.

Grab Mottau again for cheap as a #7.  I thought he did a great job last year and he's probably even better than Johnson!

Like to see krug get a shot, I like McQuaid but the bruins already have enough d-men who contribute virtually nothing offensively. Last night they had Ference and Seidenberg on the power play, that has to go. Kaberle isn't playing in Montreal, go get him back.

Give him 5 weeks so he gets 3 games b4 playoffs and is 100% for said playoffs.

AJ will be fine, our D is not the problem, scoring and the PP is always our downfall, and as someone else noted our propensity to make all goalies we face to look like Terry Sawchuk.

Well, I think it is fair to scream the sky is falling when you lose 3 guys to injury in the matter of one weeks time... but, yes, Aaron Johnson seemed to fill in just fine for the Quaider. 100% by playoffs is fine with me.

There are a heck of a lot of games between now and four weeks from now, but let's not pretend that McQuaid is Cedfano.  I'm a McQuaid fan because I like the style of game he plays, but he can be replaced by a defensively responsible Providence player.

Ask Kirk.  Maybe Shutdown Bartkowski gets the call if Johnson fails.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with this. I like McQuaid a lot, but he's not exactly irriplacable. Aaron Johnson isn't a huge dropoff honestly. As long as McQuaid is healthy and good to go come the end of April this isn't a huge loss.

I don't pay much attention to Providence, but is Trotman ready as a fill in? From what I had heard earlier in the season he was the best d-man in Providence.
