NHL regular season tickets for a dollar!

And it's not some crappy team like Buffalo or the Jets.  It's Doughty and the Kings.

A big part of the reason is that the Panthers are already terrible, but another part is that this is a football society and the game is at 3pm on a Sunday.

I'm really going to splurge and take a front row balcony seat for $8.

What's it cost to sit on the glass?

We should just buy out the whole arena and have a big party......I would fly down for that.

I checked ticketmaster because I'm one of those untrusting type of people.

Against the Bruins on the 17th there are still tix available in the lower bowl for as little as $73 and maybe less.

Right on the glass still costs you, $296

NAS, any tips for getting 4 or 5 tickets for the March 9th game against the B's?  It seems like going through the team's website is usually more expensive than other avenues.  Are there any other sources you know of?  Looking at making the trip with some guys I play with out here...

NAS, how much are the beers, concessions and parking? I ask only because a couple of years ago my next door neighbor brought his wife and two kids to Tampa for a 3 game series versus the Red Sox and between airline tickets, hotel, game tickets etc..it was actually cheaper than going to three games at Fenway. he had great seats too.

Those prices speak volumes about why there shouldn't be an NHL team there.

Concessions are expensive.  $8 hot dogs, $6 pretzels etc.

    Parking is $20.

I think beers are in the $12 range.

We'll see what the B's tickets go for on 10/17.

I use Stubhub or Vividseats for all of my tickets.  Team websites or Ticketmaster are never the way to go.

Used to get $15 seats for Lightning game all the time, and during years they were good. Some fans just don't know how good they got it.

Full house last night vs. the Pens on opening night it looks like or close to it. and they won 6-3.  They beat the backup with their backup goalie.

I agree.  A last place team not being able to draw large crowds in a football area on an early season Sunday 3pm game speaks volumes about why the NHL should remove a team from the sixth largest metro area in the USA.

I would bet those preseason games would be sold out in Hamilton.

Even if they decided to have a 4 a.m. game on a Wednesday morning.

I agree.  However, do you think the game of hockey, or more specifically the NHL, needs to be sold in Hamilton?

My Blue Jacket season tickets work out to less than $15.00 each, upper bowl seats to be sure but great sightlines.

How is hockey selling in the sixth largest metro area in the US ?

They were in downtown Miami for years and now they have been in Sunrise for quite a few.

How much longer should Bettman try to make a go of it down there ?

Until Quebec has an arena ready ?

18,000+ at opening night, which is more than TDGarden can even hold.

    Re: Most Expensive Tickets Ever

They've made a valiant effort, but you can't even sell MLB in S. Florida. There are so many factors that go into a successful sport-to-market partnership, and simple population is not a big one. Carolina, San Jose and Columbus are all smaller markets and they work just fine. They have a following that can sustain the team's finances. Most hockey fans WANT it to work in Miami, but it just deosn't. Seems like the Panthers and Thrashers are the same story. Big market. Limited initial fan base. Bad product. Diminished interest over time.

Put it this way - what needs to change to actually grow the sport in S. Florida? What's a realistic strategy?
