Most Teams In Division Have Improved Except For Bruins

Why is P.C. so silent? Habs, Wings, Leafs have all made noticeable improvements. Im not expecting anything drastic. With the way the players are being signed, the best I am expecting is a low end player like Ryder. Hoping for Iggy but probably won't happen.

We're only 1 hour and 56 minutes into free agency - chill out and wait before judging about being too quiet. I highly doubt PC is just sitting there with his feet on the desk having a nap.

For crying out loud, how many times have we seen and heard that PC hasn't done enough to improve and this-and-that. The team has been to the SC finals 2 out of the last 3 seasons. What more do you want? The Bruins are the most successful franchise over this time frame.

Montreal added Briere, Detroit added Alfreddson, and the Leafs added David Clarkson. PC made his move yesterday. Still early. History shows that day 1 of free agency is always filled with over pays. (except Z, and Marc savard) Be patient.

I like(d) Seguin, but no matter what you think the Bruins improved with Eriksson, 2 or 3 years from now that might be totally false, but for immediate impact the nod is to Boston so far.

Here's novel idea for some of you to think about.

Maybe the Bruins have plans to promote from within their farm club rather then go to an auction and overpay.

What I don't want to see is a team like the leafs (which I hate almost more than anything) pass us by because they were willing to pay for Clarkson and we weren't.  Buy somebody out if you need to.  Clarkson is a protypical Bruin.  Who is going to play first line right wing?  Yes I know free agency just started but most of the big names are gone. I also know most of the guys are being way overpaid but Clarkson at around $5 M is one of the guys under the circumstances was worth paying for.  As I said yesterday the team is stronger right now then it would have been because "currently" Erickson is better than Seguin.  There are good young defensemen to replace Ference but you need someone to replace Horton.  Maybe PC will go the trade route.  I don't think starting the season without another good right winger is acceptable.

Ya, Im not comfortable with our RW call ups being on the second line down. Id be more comfortable with another solid pick up at RW.

No problem with PC not caving and paying these prices.  Clarkson, Ribeiro, Horton, Weiss...the dollars and term are crazy.

I agree Chowda. And he also got a NMC. I would've taken the guy at 4 mill/4yrs, but not a $ or yr more.

I agree with you that the length of the contract is too long.  5 years would be better.

I am a big Seguin fan (I know he has his short comings but at 21 I still thought he had a chance to overcome some of them).  That being said I am mostly excited about this team.

    1. They will have Tuukka locked up.

    2. They have all the D back except Ference. Hamilton, Krug and Bart should just get better.  Morrow is also in the mix.

    3. Their 2nd line if it is Bergy, Marchand and Erickson is going to be a scary two way line.

4,  Their 4th line with Paille and Campbell and perhaps still Thornton is still a great 4th line.

    5.  I like the idea of Kelly on the 3rd line with a couple of younger guys - Soderberg or players from Providence/or guys aquired in the Seguin trade.

    6.  They are better by getting rid of Peverly.

    7.  The one thing they must do is find a good right winger that can play with and compliment Krejci and Lucic.  If they do they should have a chance at another good run.

Sure.  Bolland two time champ who ended our chances.  great 3rd line center for them.  Add clarkson who plays full out and gives them grit, keep bozak, rid grob, add potential #1 goalie.

We lose 4 fwds and AF all to sign Rask.  We are lots better.  Please tell me more.
