The fourth line turned the game around about half way through the first.  Before that we were on the ropes.  They chipped and checked and got the offense going, and after that it was all Bruins.   Those three guys operate as a perfect unit.

Hope they are kept as the same unit next year!!

Unexplainable for you ! But many posters called it right weeks ago when they were pleading Claude to put Thornton back into the lineup.

You CAN't win the cup with a bunch of Thelma and Luise's !
Thornton played a phenomenal role. A great team effort. Wow. Just wow.

Thornton  neutralized Torres and turn the tide of the series.

The rest of the team fed on the 4th line's energy.

    Great move Claude ! `

Chicago lost 11 regular players from their roster after winning the cup. We can expect the Bruins to lose 6 or 7 players ! It's the nature of the beast...everyone wants winners on their teams and Stanley Cup winning teams can't afford every player in the roster !

So we rebuild with Caron, Spooner, Kamfner, Knight etc. and take another serious shot at the cup within the next couple of years !!!

The great news is that the B's will in no way be impacted like Chicago was last year.  Pretty much everyone is signed for next year.  Kaberle and Ryder may go on their terms, and so may Marchand, but the team is basically set.
    The futire looks very bright.

Paille had a great postseason. His PK ability was a major reason the Bs won the cup. He was even throwing hits at the end. Great speed, great forechecker, great playoffs by Paille after sitting on the bench for big chunks of the regular season.

Thornton played well but having Paille and Campbell on that line is huge. Those guys would be 3rd line players on most NHL teams.

Agree Paille played very well.  Lesson learned about the regular season.  Paille stuck through it and did his job.  He accepted his role as a 4th liner.

Give credit where credit is due - everyone, absolutely everyone, who gives a rat's azz should acknowledge Thorny's contribution, measurable or otherwise. An "upgrade" from derision to neutrality doesn't cut it. He should be commended ....
Campbell and Paille were fantastic killing penalties. Thornton did nothing special. My feelings toward the SC don't matter. The B's won the Cup.
    Posted by Not-A-Shot
As you can see this just after the Cup victory and Mr Shot will not give Thornton any props.
He's the only one on this thread that didn't think Thornton was a part of this Stanley Cup winning team. Heck ! even Shupe liked what Thornton.

p.s. no offense on bringing up an old thread

If the B's don't win the Cup this year, which in all likelyhood they won't, will it be Thornton's fault?

For me it wouldnt be his fault because he wouldnt be on my line up card come playoff time.
