How's this ? They fake cuz their sissies who love the attention and can't wait to take out their stupid sweaters at the end of a game. They don't only run all game they  do lots of walking too

    [/QUOTE]

So... wasn't going to take the bait on this one, because I've had this conversation with many people who are ignorant of soccer. "Faking" happens in every sport. Every. Sport. If you think you're a "tough guy" (as opposed to those "sisses who love the attention") because you're a hockey fan, I'd be happy to provide you with video of hockey players diving to get a call. And they won't all be Canadiens videos (although to be sure the Habs would make up a good 75% of them Wink).

It happens in basketball, hockey, football, soccer...basically any contact sport where the officials have to use their judgement to make a call. And the reason soccer players "dive" is the same reason basketball players flop under the basket, or why wide receivers fall down and throw their hands up (or make the "air flag" motion), or why hockey players fall down and grab their face when a stick gets near their face: they all do it to gain some kind of call/advantage for their team.

Now, I don't condone diving in any sport. I've played soccer for 35 years and at a pretty  high level, and I can't stand the diving that happens, even if I understand it for what it is. The same is true of hockey, although I started playing later in life, it still makes me nuts when people flop and get away with it.

So I would adivse you (and 49thparallel too Smile) to be careful about painting with a broad brush. Soccer is a pretty physical game, is played by some of the best athletes in the world, and has seen its share of gruesome injuries - without the benefit of protective gear.

I appreciate all athlete's, but I think hockey players get a pass for traveling at 30mph when they fake over athletes who travel at 10-15mph. And the the % of soccer players who fake seem to be a lot higher. And how ANYONE who can enjoy a sport that has this

Needs their fawking head examined, because anyone with a brain considers this to be fawking annoying as FAWK! If you don't? That's probably because you don't have a brain!

    Or

Soccer is a horrifically boring game that involves a ton of walking around and flopping.

Paille had the Bambi legs going.  Bad news.

Kulikov got hurt so badly he had to crawl to the bench with the help of a ref.

Gudbranson and Smith also got hurt and got to the bench.

I hate to see injuries, but this was all awesome to see.  No one lying dead on the ice.  Hurt?  Get to the bench.

that ought to be manatory viewing for all soccer players. Stop faking and get up if you're hurt... they're such wimps in that sport!

Ive been wanting to ask who is that girl ?

I don't care how many youtube links you use. Soccer players, the sport & it's fans who go to them to create a bees nest are ridiculous! You should take this here. I'm sure you will find plenty of brain dead people there that agree with you.

Ribero bet u he was a soccer player- looks like one

subban- major shoboater- real hotdog can't stand that about him

Kovalev- socccer player apparently a good one

    Kesler - well - that's why i'm not a big fan

malone- no dive lost his balance, no way that's a dive

Socca in soccer diving is huge part of the game and the traditionalists have nodesire to stop whereas in the Nhl it is decreasing and being called much more. REF- Claude Lemieux big diver refs caught on and he began to get called for it and he diminished since he wasn't getting as lucky

    Re: Paille Update

It doesn’t sound like Paille should be out for long however, and perhaps he could even be back in against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Wednesday night.

“The doctor told him he couldn’t go back in. I’m told it’s not very serious, but those are hard to comment on,” said Claude Julien to reporters following the game. “He felt pretty good after the game, so you never know. Hopefully it was just a minor bump.”
